A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and
authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John
Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is
hereby set apart and declared open for special improved-
farm settlement.

Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District.

Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this first day of March, in the year of
our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

Conferring certain Powers on the Judge of the District Court
of Waikato and Thames.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth
day of February, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled “The District Courts Act Amend-
ment Act, 1865,” it is enacted that the powers conferred on
Judges of District Courts in and by the twenty-fifth, twenty-
sixth, and twenty-seventh sections of “The District Courts
Act, 1858,” shall be exercised only within such districts as
shall from time to time be named by the Governor by Order
in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette as districts
within which such powers may be exercised :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority so vested in
him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, doth name and appoint the
district as defined in and by a certain Proclamation dated
the third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
four, to be a district within which the Judge of the District
Court of Waikato and Thames may exercise the powers
conferred by the twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, and twenty-
seventh sections of “The District Courts Act, 1858.”

Extending Time for Preparation of Valuation List of Borough
of Westport.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth
day of February, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the valua-
tion list of the Borough of Westport cannot be
completed by or within the time mentioned in “The Rating
Act, 1894” :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested
in him by the said “Rating Act, 1894,” and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby extend the time for completing the
preparation of such valuation list until the thirtieth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and four; and doth also
extend the time during which such valuation list shall be
open for inspection, and during which objections thereto
may be made, until the thirtieth day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and four.

Consenting to closing Road in Block III., Geraldine Survey

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth
day of February, 1904.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection one, of “The
Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is
enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county
or district road to be stopped, and such road shall not be
deemed to be stopped, until the consent thereto of the
Governor by Order in Council gazetted is obtained :
And whereas the Geraldine Road Board has applied for
such consent in respect to the road described in the
Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the above-
in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby consent to the Geraldine Road Board closing the
road mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
