This is to certify that the above special order has been duly passed. Dated this 1st February, 1904.

NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

THAT the Newcastle Road Board, being authorised under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” to raise a loan of £500 for the purpose of culverting, grading, forming, and graveling roads in the Newcastle Road District, and having made a special rate of 1½d. in the pound as security for the payment of interest and other charges on the said loan, now decide, under subsection (1) of section 5 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” to pay the interest and sinking fund on the loan out of the General Fund, the interest being at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum, payable on the 1st September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was proposed on the 11th day of November, 1903, and was passed on the 9th day of December, 1903.

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WANGANUI COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER of the Wanganui County Council made on the 13th day of October and confirmed on the 25th day of November, 1903:—

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Wanganui County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorised to be raised by the Wanganui County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of constructing the Aberfeldie Bridge (£1,000) and reconstructing the Wanganui Bridge (£1,500), the said Wanganui County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Wanganui County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, Robert Neilson, of Okoia, Chairman of the Wanganui County Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order made by the Wanganui County Council on the 13th day of October, 1903, and confirmed on the 25th day of November, 1903. As witness my hand and the seal of the Council, this 9th day of February, 1904.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.

THE result of a poll taken on the 13th February, 1904, upon a proposal to raise a special loan of £800 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of making and fencing a road from Whakataki to Castlepoint, as follows, viz.:—

Number of voters in special-rating area is 62, representing 112 votes: Number of voters who recorded their votes in favour of the proposal, 36, representing 63 votes; number of voters who recorded their votes against the proposal, 2, representing 5 votes: majority in favour of the proposal, 58. I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

Notice to Imprestees under “The Public Revenues Act, 1891.”

EVERY officer holding advances of public money is hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the unexpended balance of his account on or before Thursday, the 31st March proximo, and forthwith to transmit to the Treasury at Wellington the bank receipt for such repayment, together with an account of his expenditure to the same date, as required by clause 4 of the Treasury Regulations.

As respects disbursements which officers may require to make immediately after the close of the financial year, requisitions for the amount required are to be made in such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later than the 14th March, so that the requisite funds may be placed at the disposal of the officer as soon after the 1st April as possible.
