Fixing the Date for Payment of Income-tax under “The Land-tax and Income-tax Act, 1903.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Auckland, this tenth day of December, 1903.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in him under “The Land and Income Assessment Act, 1900,” and “The Land-tax and Income-tax Act, 1903,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and determine that the respective duties leviable under the said Acts by way of income-tax shall be paid in one sum on Friday, the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four.

And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place where the said duties of income-tax shall be payable shall be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Government Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accordingly.

Mackenzie County Council subject to the Provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887.”

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of December, 1903.

WHEREAS the Mackenzie County Council, being a leasing authority within the meaning of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), has requested that these presents should issue, and it appears expedient to make the Order hereinafter contained:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the Mackenzie County Council shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Boundaries of Eltham Drainage District altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of December, 1903.

Present:

The Honourable Sir J. G. Ward presiding in Council.

WHEREAS in accordance with the provisions of the fifth section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Hawera, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand praying that the land comprised in the said area be excluded from the Eltham Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act: And whereas a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the Second Schedule hereto, also situated in the County of Hawera, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor praying that the land comprised in the said area be added to the said Eltham Drainage District:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fifth section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the area of land described in the said First Schedule shall be excluded from the said Eltham Drainage District; and the area of land described in the said Second Schedule shall be added to the said Eltham Drainage District; and, further, that the boundaries of the said drainage district shall be those described in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE ELTHAM DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District being Section No. 14, Block VII., Ngaiere Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 13; towards the north-east by Subdivision No. 5 of Subdivision No 1, Pukengahu Block; and towards the south-east and south-west by Cheal Road.

Also, all that area in the Taranaki Land District being Sections No. 30 and 54A, Block XI., Ngaiere Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Rawhitiroa Road; towards the south-east by Section No. 7; and towards the south-west by Sangster Road.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ELTHAM DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District being Subdivisions Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of Subdivision No. 1, Pukengahu Block. Bounded towards the north-east by Subdivision No. 2 of Pukengahu Block from Wingrove Road to Pukengahu Road; thence by the said Pukengahu Road to the north-western boundary-line of Subdivision No. 14 of Subdivision No. 1, Pukengahu Block; thence towards the south-east by the said Subdivision No. 14 to the north-eastern boundary of Block XI., Ngaiere Survey District; thence towards the south-west by the said Block XI. to the southernmost corner of Subdivision No. 6 of Subdivision No. 1, Pukengahu Block; thence towards the north-west by Subdivisions Nos. 6 and 7 of the said Subdivision No. 1 to the easternmost corner of the said Subdivision No. 7 of Subdivision No. 1; thence again towards the south-west by the said Subdivision No. 7 of Subdivision No. 1 to the Cheal Road; thence again towards the north-west by Cheal Road to Wingrove Road; thence by Wingrove Road to the place of commencement.
