THE following special order, made by the Pakuranga
Road Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

PAKURANGA ROAD DISTRICT.
By-laws.
By-laws of the body corporate the Inhabitants of the Pa-
kuranga Road District, made and enacted by and under
special order of the Pakuranga Road Board passed on the
5th day of October, 1903, and sealed with the common seal
of the said Board on the 7th day of November, 1903 ; to come
into force on being gazetted.
In pursuance of the powers vested in the said Pakuranga
Road Board by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and its
amendments, “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amend-
ments, and “The Motor-cars Regulation Act, 1902,” and
any other statutory provisions the said Board thereunto
enabling, the Pakuranga Road Board doth hereby ordain as
follows :—
-
No person shall ride any velocipede, bicycle, or tricycle
on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge. -
No person in charge of a motor-car shall permit such
car to travel on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge
at a greater rate of speed than three miles an hour. -
No person shall at other than a walking pace drive or
ride any horse on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge. -
No person shall, without the written permission of the
Board first had and obtained, cause to be moved or driven
on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge any two-
wheeled vehicle or any sledge the load on which shall
exceed 2 tons. -
No person shall, without the written permission of the
Board first had and obtained, cause to be moved or driven
on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge any lorry,
wagon, carriage, or other vehicle having more more than
two wheels, the weight of which, inclusive of any load
thereon, shall exceed 4½ tons. -
No person shall, without the written permission of the
Board first had and obtained, take or cause to be moved or
driven on, upon, across, or along the Tamaki Bridge any
engine, agricultural or other machine weighing more than
4½ tons. -
No person shall fish off or from the Tamaki Bridge,
or any part thereof, or place or use on the Tamaki Bridge,
or any part thereof, any fishing-net or other fishing gear. -
Every person who shall commit a breach of or fail to
comply with any of the provisions of these by-laws shall be
guilty of an offence, and for such offence be liable to a
penalty not exceeding the sum of £5.
Passed by the Pakuranga Road Board at a meeting held
on the 5th day of October, 1903.

Borough Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order raising Additional Loan for completing Abattoir.
The following resolution was adopted at a special meeting
of the Lyttelton Borough Council held on Monday, the 21st
September, 1903, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting on
Monday, the 19th October, as a special order :—
“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
by ‘The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,’ ‘The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and all other powers in that behalf
enabling them, the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of
the Borough of Lyttelton, acting by the Lyttelton Borough
Council, hereby resolve by special order to raise a special
loan of £500 for a period of forty-one years, bearing interest
at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum, for the purpose of
finishing and completing the abattoir, being an abattoir duly
established under section 5 of ‘The Slaughtering and In-
spection Act, 1900,’ and now registered as the public abattoir
for the Borough of Lyttelton. The security for the said loan
is a special rate of 1d. in the pound, to be levied upon the
rateable valuation of all rateable property within the
Borough of Lyttelton ; the loan to be repaid by eighty-two
half-yearly payments of interest at the rate of 3½ per cent.
per annum.”
We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of
special order made on Monday, the 21st September, 1903,
and confirmed on Monday, the 19th October, 1903.

Special Order striking Special Rate re Abattoir Loan of £500.
The following resolution was adopted at a special meeting
of the Lyttelton Borough Council held on Monday, the 19th
October, 1903, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held
on Monday, the 16th November, as a special order :—
“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’
and of all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling it,
the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolve as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £500, at 3½ per cent. per annum, for a
period of forty-one years, authorised to be raised by the
Lyttelton Borough Council under the provisions of ‘The
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and ‘The Slaughtering and
Inspection Act, 1900,’ for the purpose of finishing and com-
pleting the abattoir, being an abattoir duly established under
section 5 of ‘The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,’
and registered as the public abattoir for the Borough of
Lyttelton, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable
valuation of all rateable property situated within the bound-
aries of the Borough of Lyttelton ; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be paid half-yearly on the 1st day of
January and the 1st day of July in each and every year
