Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four: and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Undulating and broken forest land; soil of fair quality; well watered. Situated in the Marlborough Special Settlement Block, about fourteen miles from Opanake Railway-station.
Altitude, about 800 ft. above sea-level. Nearly all heavy mixed forest, with one or two fern and tea-tree openings; limestone formation; soil fairly good; well watered. Distant fourteen miles from Otorohanga.
Forest land of fair quality; well watered. Within Marlborough Special Settlement; fronts main Opanake-Hokianga Road, about eleven miles from Opanake Railway-station.
Half mixed forest, half open land; soil medium, and well watered. Situated about four miles from Kaitaia and three miles from Awanui landing.
Undulating to broken forest land, of good quality, and well watered. Situated about eight miles from Peria and two miles from Fairburn Post-office.
Weighted with £16, valuation for small house. Open fern land, undulating; soil medium. Situated about seven miles from Runciman Railway-station.
Open land, chiefly swamp, with some fern hills. Fronting Spectacle Lake, about three miles from Te Arai Post-office.
About 10 acres mixed forest, remainder open land; broken and undulating; inferior soil. Situated on beach road from Mangawai to Omaha, about four miles and a half from Mangawai.
Chiefly broken land; about half of each section covered with mixed forest, balance tea-tree land. Situated on coast, about two miles and a half north of Whangaruru Harbour.
Open broken land. Fronting an arm of Whangaroa Harbour, about four miles from Whangaroa Township.
Weighted with £14, valuation for fencing and grassing. Broken to undulating fern land; pastoral, with 8 acres mixed forest; 50 chains frontage to Whangamarino River, which is navigable for boats. About fifteen miles from Mercer.
