Captain WILLIAM SEMMENS AUSTIN from the Reefton Rifle Volunteers to the Greymouth Rifle Volunteers, with his present rank, and with effect from 1st October, 1903.

North Canterbury Battalion Infantry Volunteers divided into two Battalions.

Wellington, 13th November, 1903.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve that the North Canterbury Battalion of Infantry Volunteers, which at present consists of twelve companies and a cycle company, be divided into two battalions of infantry, to be designated 1st and 2nd North Canterbury Battalion of Infantry Volunteers, which will consist of the undermentioned companies respectively. The present battalion staff to form that of the 1st North Canterbury Battalion.

1st North Canterbury Battalion of Infantry Volunteers.

A Company—Christchurch City Guards Rifle Volunteers.
B Company—Christ's College Rifle Volunteers.
C Company—Christchurch City Rifle Volunteers.
D Company—Kaiapoi Rifle Volunteers.
E Company—Rangiora Rifle Volunteers.
F Company—Imperial Rifle Volunteers.
Christchurch Volunteer Cycle Corps.

With headquarters at Christchurch.
The above battalion to retain their original date of seniority—viz., 8th October, 1895.

2nd North Canterbury Battalion of Infantry Volunteers.

A—Sydenham Rifle Volunteers.
B—Linwood Rifle Volunteers.
C—Civil Service Rifle Volunteers.
D—Canterbury Highland Rifle Volunteers.
E—Ellesmere Guards Rifle Volunteers.
F—Canterbury Native Rifle Volunteers.

With headquarters at Christchurch.
With effect from 7th October, 1903.
