I, SAMUEL HUTCHINSON-BROWN, of Waihi, in the Provincial District of Auckland and Colony of New Zealand, Bicycle-manufacturer, do hereby give public notice that by deed poll bearing date the 1st day of October, 1903, I did, on behalf of myself and my heirs lawfully begotten, formally, wholly, and absolutely renounce and relinquish the use of my proper surname of Brown, and therein did declare that I had assumed, adopted, determined, and intended thenceforth in all records, deeds, documents, and writings, in all actions, suits, and proceedings, in all dealings, transactions, and things, and upon all occasions whatsoever, to use and subscribe myself by the name of Samuel Hutchinson-Brown, instead of Samuel Hutchinson Brown, so as to be at all times hereafter called, known, described, and distinguished as Samuel Hutchinson-Brown exclusively.

“THE SLAUGHTERING AND INSPECTION ACT, 1900.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY ABATTOIR.

I, HENRY FRANCIS WIGRAM, Mayor of the City of Christchurch, do hereby certify that the Christchurch City Council has, by special order dated the 5th day of October, 1903, duly authorised the raising of the sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) by way of special loan, for the purposes of completing abattoirs established at Sockburn, under section 5 of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” of which the said Christchurch City Council is the controlling authority, to be used in common for the districts under the jurisdiction of the said Christchurch City Council and the Borough Councils of New Brighton, Sumner, and Woolston respectively.
