HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Heathcote Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000 authorised to be raised by the Heathcote Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction and execution of the works in the Bromley Ward of the Heathcote Road District mentioned hereunder, at the approximate cost set opposite such works respectively,—

the said Heathcote Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties included in the Bromley Ward of the Heathcote Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.
I, Robert Malcolm, Chairman of the Heathcote Road Board, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly proposed on the 4th day of September, 1903, and passed on the 5th day of October, 1903, in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Christchurch City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
THAT, in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901,” and all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling it, the Christchurch City Council (the said city containing a population of not less than 2,000 persons) hereby resolves as follows:—
(a.) To raise a special loan of £5,000, for the period and having a currency of thirty-two years, bearing interest at the rate of £4 per centum per annum, for completing abattoirs established at Sockburn, of which the said Christchurch City Council is the controlling authority, to be used in common for the districts under the jurisdiction of the said Christchurch City Council and the Borough Councils of New Brighton, Sumner, and Woolston respectively; the plans of the said works and site thereof having been approved by the Minister for Agriculture, pursuant to “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.”
(b.) That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the said special loan of £5,000 so resolved to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the provisions of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and of all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling it, for completing the said abattoirs, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/50d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable valuation of all rateable property of the City of Christchurch, as constituted and described by Proclamation of His Excellency the Governor, published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 26th March, 1903, No. 23, dated the 1st day of April, 1903, and with boundaries as described in the Schedule thereto; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
And it is hereby further resolved that the foregoing resolution will be confirmed at a subsequent ordinary meeting of the Christchurch City Council to be held at 7.30 o’clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, on Monday, the 5th day of October, 1903.
The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 7th day of September, 1903, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Council held on the 5th day of October, 1903.

MOA ROAD BOARD.
Notice is hereby given that the above Board intends, at a special meeting to be held on Wednesday, 9th September, 1903, to make the following special order:—
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Road Boards Act, 1882,’ and ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges for a loan of £150, authorised to be raised by the Moa Road Board under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the purpose of widening and culverting the Motukawa Road, the said Moa Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Motukawa Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections S/3, 1, 2, 3, 4, Part I., Block III., Huiroa S.D., 51, 52, Block III., Huiroa S.D., 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, Block VII., Huiroa S.D., 3, 4, 5, Block VIII., Huiroa S.D., and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, at 4½ per centum per annum, or until the said loan is fully paid off. All expenses in connection with raising this loan, and the first year’s interest, to be charged to the said loan.”
