BOROUGH OF GISBORNE.
Result of Proposed Loan Poll.
In the matter of the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Gisborne to raise a special loan of £75,000 for water, drainage, and road works, &c.
I HEREBY give notice that on Wednesday, the 23rd day of September, 1903, a poll of the electors of the said borough was taken upon the proposal of the said Council of the said borough, in pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and of all the other powers enabling them in that behalf—(a) a high-pressure water-supply, £35,000; (b) a drainage and sewerage scheme, £24,275; (c) street formation and metalling, £10,000; (d) repayment of existing loan, £5,725—and at the said poll the resolution in favour of the said proposal was rejected, 324 votes being recorded against and 296 in favour of the proposal; informal votes, 19.

CITY OF NELSON DRAINAGE POLL.
IN pursuance of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” I hereby give notice that at a poll taken this day, on a proposal to raise a special loan of £55,000 for the drainage of the City of Nelson, the result was as follows: For the proposal, 431; against the proposal, 550.
A majority of valid votes having been recorded against the proposal, I therefore declare the said proposal rejected.

Notice of Intention to take Land for a Road through Wharekopae No. 1B² and Wharekopae No. 1a Blocks, Ngatapa Survey District, Cook County.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through the Wharekopae No. 1B² and No. 1a Blocks, Ngatapa Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road and of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Wharekopae, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads over Native Lands in Okehu Block, Maungakaretu Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given, under the authority contained in section 72 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and amendment thereof, that the road mentioned in the Schedule hereto was, in March, 1903, surveyed and laid off over the Native lands therein mentioned, under my direction; and that, in terms of the said Act, the site of such road shall be deemed to be a road dedicated to the public, and shall vest in His Majesty.
