DANNEVIRKE RIDING.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded
towards the north-east and north by the Norsewood Riding
as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, 2nd March,
1893, from the summit of the Ruahine Range to the Danne-
virke-Norsewood Road: thence towards the south-east
generally by the Dannevirke-Norsewood Road to the Bo-
rough of Dannevirke; thence by the northern boundary of
that borough to the Mangatera Stream; thence by a line
along the middle of the Mangatera Stream to the Danne-
virke-Weber Road; thence by the Dannevirke-Weber Road
to the middle of the Manawatu River; thence by a line
along the middle of the Manawatu River to its confluence
with the Oruakeretaki Stream: thence towards the south-
west by the Woodville County as described in the Schedule
to “The Woodville County Act, 1901.” to the summit of
the Ruahine Range: and thence towards the north-west by
the summit of the Ruahine Range to the place of commence-
ment: exclusive of the Borough of Dannevirke.
MANGATORO RIDING.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded
towards the north by the Norsewood Riding as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, 2nd March, 1893,
from the Dannevirke-Norsewood Road to the Mangate-
waunui River: thence towards the north-east generally by
the Ormondville Riding as described in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 30, 12th May, 1887, to the western boundary of
the Patangata County; thence by the Patangata County as
described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, 22nd Novem-
ber, 1900, to the easternmost corner of Section No. 3, Block
VIII., Mangatoro Survey District: thence towards the
south-east generally by the said Patangata County, and by
the Weber County as described in the Schedule to “The
Weber County Act, 1902,” to Trig. Station No. 52c (Waha-
taura): thence towards the south by the Pahiatua County
as described in the Schedule to “The Counties Act Amend-
ment Act, 1888,” to Woodville County: thence towards the
south-west generally by Woodville County as described in
the Schedule to “The Woodville County Act, 1901,” to the
confluence of the Manawatu River with the Oruakeretaki
Stream: and thence towards the north-west by the Danne-
virke Riding hereinbefore described, to the place of com-
mencement.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” I,
Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that, from and after the date hereof, that part of the said
colony described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the
same is hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and
shall be known by the name of the Waikiwi River District;
and that the number of members who are to constitute the
Board of the said district shall be five. And I do also pro-
claim and declare that John Brown, of Invercargill, shall be
the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of five
members of the aforesaid Board; that Thursday, the fifth
day of November, one thousand nine hundred and three,
shall be the day, and the office of Thomas Fleming, at
Athenaeum Buildings, Dee Street, Invercargill, shall be the
place, for holding such first elections; and that Thursday,
the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
three, at eight o’clock in the evening, shall be the time, and
the said office of Thomas Fleming, Invercargill, shall be the
place, at which the first meeting of the members of the
Board of the said Waikiwi River District shall be held,
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the aforesaid
John Brown shall be the person to make a roll of electors
for the purposes of the aforesaid first elections, in the
manner prescribed by section eight of the said “River
Boards Act, 1884.”
SCHEDULE.
WAIKIWI RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, situated in
Blocks XIV., XV., XVI., and XVII., Invercargill Hundred,
bounded towards the north-east generally by Section No. 13,
Block XVI., from the westernmost corner of that sec-
tion to the road forming its south-eastern boundary; thence
across that road and by Section No. 38 to its south-eastern
corner; thence towards the north-west generally by Sec-
tions Nos. 38 and 39 to a point on the eastern boundary-line
of the last-mentioned section, distant 2511 links from its
north-eastern corner; thence towards the north by a right
line to a point on the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 42,
distant 2543 links from the north-eastern corner of that
section; thence across the road forming the eastern bound-
ary of the said Section No. 42; thence towards the west by
that road to the north-western corner of Section No. 43,
Block XVI. aforesaid; thence again towards the north by the
road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 40,
39, 38, and 21, Block XIV., to a point in line with the
western boundary-line of Section No. 5; thence towards the
west by a line across the last-mentioned road and by the road
forming the western boundary of Section No. 5 aforesaid to
the north-western corner of that section; thence again
towards the north by the road forming the northern bound-
aries of Sections Nos. 5, 4, 3, and 2, Block XIV., to the
north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
towards the east by the road forming the eastern boundaries
of Sections Nos. 2 and 1, and towards the south by the road
forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 1 and 3,
Block XIV. aforesaid, to the road along the western side of
the Invercargill-Kingston Railway; thence again towards
the east by that road and the Railway Reserve to a point on
the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 3, Block XV., dis-
tant 1500 links from the north-eastern corner of that sec-
tion; thence again towards the south by a right line to a
point on the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 13, distant
1500 links from its north-eastern corner; thence again
towards the west by Section No. 13; and again towards the
south by Sections Nos. 13, 16, and 18, to the north-western
corner of Section No. 18; thence towards the south-east
generally by Sections Nos. 18 and 11, across a road, and by
Sections Nos. 12 and 23, Block XV. aforesaid, to a point on
the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section, distant
620 links from its easternmost corner; thence by a right
line to a point on the northern side of the road which inter-
sects Section No. 14, distant 615 links from the intersection
of the northern side of the said road by the eastern bound-
ary-line of the said Section No. 14; thence across and by
the said road to its junction with another road intersecting
the said Section No. 14 in a southerly direction; thence by
the last-mentioned road to the road forming the south-
eastern boundary of Section No. 20, Block XV.; thence by
that road and the road forming the north-eastern boundary
of Section No. 21, Block XVI., to a point in line with the
north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section;
thence across the road and by the said Section No. 21 to its
westernmost corner; thence towards the south-west gene-
rally by the road forming the south-western boundaries of
Sections Nos. 23, 25, 27, and 29, Block XVI., and the road
forming the north-western and western boundaries of Sec-
tion No. 22 to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 14;
thence by the said Section No. 14 and the production of its
northern boundary-line to the Oreti River; thence towards
the west by the Oreti River to the road forming the northern
boundary of Section No. 47; thence towards the north-west
generally by that road to the north-eastern corner of the
said Section No. 47; thence across the road and by Sections
Nos. 46 and 8, Block XVI., to the road forming the north-
eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence
across and by that road and the road along the left bank
of the Oreti River to the southernmost corner of Section
No. 15; and thence by Sections Nos. 15 and 14, Block XVI.
aforesaid, to the place of commencement.
