therein: Provided that such secretary may refuse to issue
a license to any person who within the previous two years
has been convicted of any breach of the provisions of any
Act relating to fishing for trout or perch, or of any regula-
tion made thereunder.
3. Licenses available in any acclimatisation district
throughout New Zealand may be issued at the following
rates:—
Licenses for men: Twenty shillings for the whole
season; five shillings for one month; and two
shillings and sixpence for one week.
Licenses for women, and for boys attending school
or under the age of sixteen years: Ten shillings
for the whole season; three shillings for one month;
or one shilling and sixpence for one week.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of September, 1903.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the seventh
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-two, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
eighth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-two, and by an Order in Council dated the eleventh
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
nine, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
nine, certain regulations were made under “The Fisheries
Conservation Act, 1884,” providing for the conditions on
which, and the season within which, trout, perch, and tench
may be taken in the Southern Acclimatisation District, and
also for the issue of licenses within such district, and for
the refusal of a license in certain cases: And whereas it
is expedient to amend the said regulations, and to make
other provision touching the matters aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred upon
him by “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” and “The
Fisheries Conservation Act Amendment Act, 1902,” and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the following
regulations for the Southern Acclimatisation District and
the waters thereof, and doth hereby declare that these
regulations shall, as from the date of the publication thereof
in the New Zealand Gazette, supersede all regulations in
force in the said district at variance therewith.
REGULATIONS.
- “The said Acts” mean “The Fisheries Conservation
Act, 1884,” and its amendments. - Licenses to fish for trout, perch, and tench may be
issued by the secretary of any duly registered acclimatisa-
tion society in the said Southern Acclimatisation District,
or by any one authorised by any such secretary in that
behalf, and such licenses shall entitle the person named
therein to fish in every acclimatisation district from the first
day of October in any one year to the fifteenth day of April
in the year following, subject to the said Acts and any
special regulations made thereunder in force in any such
district affecting any particular stream, river, or water
therein: Provided that any such secretary may refuse to
issue a license to any person who within the previous two

any Act relating to fishing for trout, perch, or tench, or of
any regulation made thereunder. - Licenses available in any acclimatisation district

Native Lands in Ngarara West “A” Block, Kaitawa and
Kapiti Survey Districts, to be taken for Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of September, 1903.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
the construction of roads:
And whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native
owners, and the title thereto is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map of the said lands has been prepared in
duplicate, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The
Public Works Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby declare that the lands shown upon such
map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed
to be taken for the purposes of the public work hereinbefore
mentioned; and the said lands shall vest in His Majesty
King Edward the Seventh, as from the twenty-ninth day
of October, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Land taken for a Native School at Mangaorongo.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first
day of August, 1903.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required for a certain public work, to wit, a
Native school:
And whereas it has been made a condition of the esta-
blishment of the said Native school that the site required
therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His
Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to
such condition, and it has been made to appear that such
agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be
effected thereby:
And whereas by an order of the Native Appellate Court,
bearing date the seventh day of September, one thousand
nine hundred, certain aboriginal natives, as in the said
order mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the
Rangitoto A Block, within which the said land is situated:
And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act,
1894,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the
position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto
attached:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment
Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order and declare that the land shown upon the said map
