BOROUGH OF GREY LYNN.

Result of Poll.

I, JOHN WISDOM SHACKELFORD, Mayor of the Borough of Grey Lynn, hereby give notice that the result of the poll taken in the said borough upon the proposal to raise a special loan of £9,000 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof, for the purpose of—to undertake the grading, levelling, formation, metalling, kerbing, and channelling and draining of the streets or roads within the limits of or bounding the Borough of Grey Lynn, which poll was held on the 19th day of August, 1903, was as follows:—

Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 313 ; number of votes against the proposal, 125: majority of votes in favour of the proposal, 188. Informal, 3.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Special Order made by the Newcastle Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Newcastle Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Newcastle Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Newcastle Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for culverting, grading, and forming and graveling roads, the said Newcastle Road Board hereby makes a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Newcastle Road District, comprising all lands in the said district; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed by the Newcastle Road Board on the 12th day of August, 1903.

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.

Special Order for Stanley Road Loan of £650.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Mangonui Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £650, authorised to be raised by the Mangonui Road Board under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of completing the metalling on the Stanley Road as far as Section 12, Block 15, Huiroa (Savage’s), the Mangonui Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property in the Stanley Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 3, 4, part 8 (110 acres), 10, 11, 15, 16, Block XI., part 23, Block XV. (192 acres 2 roods), Huiroa Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest to be 4½ per cent. per annum.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” on Monday, the 3rd August, 1903, and that it was published in the Egmont Post of the 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st July, 1903, being the four weeks immediately preceding the meeting at which it was proposed.
