Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Whakatane County,” in trust, as a reserve for public-pound purposes.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Sections Nos. 28 and 29 of the Village of Taneatua, and containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 7 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 8 of Block IX., Whakatane Survey District, 461 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 444 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 30 of the Village of Taneatua, 458 links; and towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 26 and 27 of the Village of Taneatua aforesaid, 444 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50468, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red.

Land taken for a Native School at Mangaorongo.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of August, 1903.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a certain public work, to wit, a Native school:

And whereas it has been made a condition of the establishment of the said Native school that the site required therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to such condition, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:

And whereas by an order of the Native Appellate Court, bearing date the seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred, certain aboriginal natives, as in the said order mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the Rangitoto A Block, within which the said land is situated:

And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the land shown upon the said map and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

MANGAORONGO NATIVE-SCHOOL SITE.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan as described above, deposited in the Education Department, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3 of Block LV. of the Town of Rotorua. Bounded towards the north-east by the Tauranga-Rotorua Road, 932 links, and by Ranolf Street, 1031 links; thence towards the south-east by a right line, 892 links; thence towards the north-west and south-west by the Tarewa Block, 382 and 732 links; thence again towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 2 and 1 of Block LV. of the Town of Rotorua, the abutment of Kuirau Street, and by Sections Nos. 5 and 4 of Block LIII. of said town, 606 links; thence again towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 2 and 3 of the last-mentioned block, 175 links; and thence again towards the north-west by Section No. 3 aforesaid, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 49265, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red. For a recreation reserve.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

For a cemetery reserve.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.
