Point Lonsdale Light.—Port Phillip.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 4, dated 19th December, 1901, it is hereby notified that on and after the 5th January, 1903, the portion of the red occulting light shown from Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, inside Port Phillip, between the bearings of N. 88° W. and S. 78° W., will be altered from red to white.
Mariners navigating the South Channel between Nos. 2 and 6 buoys, and seeing the white light changing to red, will know they are too close to the south side of the channel, and should haul out to the northward to get the white light again.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
Spencer Gulf.—Middle Bank Lightship.
Notice is hereby given that during the prevalence of fog or mist a gong will be sounded at the abovementioned lightship for a period of thirty seconds in duration and at intervals of five minutes.
The sound will be audible in ordinary weather for a distance of three miles.
This affects Admiralty Chart 2389B.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Department of Ports and Harbours, Melbourne, Victoria, is published for general information.

VICTORIA.
West Channel.—Port Phillip.
REFERRING to General Notice to Mariners, Victoria, dated the 24th September, 1901, page 69, it is hereby notified that a narrow shoal, about 2 cables long, carrying 15 ft. to 16 ft. at low water, has been located in the West Channel between Nos. 6 and 8 buoys. Such shoal runs almost parallel with the eastern bank of the channel, at about 300 ft. therefrom, and extends 200 ft. westward of an imaginary line drawn through Nos. 6 and 8 buoys, with its southern extremity 1½ cables N. by E. from No. 6 buoy.
Owing to the formation of shallow knolls, and changes in the contour of the banks of the channel generally, mariners are furthermore informed that on the 5th January, 1903, the following buoys will be shifted from their present positions as hereunder:—
No. 1 Royal George gas buoy will be shifted S.E. ½ S. 1 cable.
No. 2 Royal George gas buoy will be shifted W. 100 ft.
No. 6 buoy will be shifted W. 200 ft.
No. 8 buoy will be shifted N. 1½ cables.
No. 12 buoy will be shifted N. by W. 1 cable.
Small black can buoy (now moored S.S.W. 4½ cables from No. 5 buoy) will be shifted E.N.E. 2½ cables, to mark the western side of the channel.
No. 5 buoy will be shifted N.N.E. 6⅔ cables.
No. 7 buoy will be shifted N.E. ½ N. 4 cables.

DELAGOА BAY. — A beacon, a circular stone pillar about 12 ft. high, and showing 2 ft. or 3 ft. above H.W., is est. in approx. 25° 58⅓′ S., 32° 35′ E., about ¾ cable within the edge of the mud-flat extending from Lorenzo Marques to the srd. with the harb. lt. N. 36° W., 5½ cables, and the E. A. Tel. office flagstaff N. 87° E. Dec.
ZANZIBAR HARB.—A white stone pillar, 15 ft. high, is est. in 6° 11′ S., 39° 12′ E., on the beach to the S.-erd. of Kiungani Mission Station, with the white stone pillar, 36 ft. high, N. 42° E., 1 cable, and Kiungani Mission flagstaff N. 13° W. These 2 pillars in line N. 42° E. lead through the srn. pass between Mtwana and Penfold Rk. buoys. It is proposed to est. a F. white lt. on each of the above beacons. Dec.
