such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

  1. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  2. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  3. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the last Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  4. The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 14 acres and 39 perches, more or less, situate in South Molyneux District, being sections numbered respectively 1 of 16, 3 of 16, and 4 of 16, and intersecting road-line, Block VII., on the map of the said district. Bounded towards the west and north by Karoro Creek, 250 links, 500 links, 140 links, and 2230 links; towards the north-east by the ocean, 1001 links; towards the south-east by section numbered 1, 545·5 links; towards the south-west by section numbered 2 of 16, 532·8 links; again towards the south-east by the said section numbered 2 of 16, 482·3 links and 217·4 links; again towards the north-east by the said section numbered 2 of 16, 380·5 links; and again towards the south-east by the said section numbered 1, 669·1 links: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin.

Powers delegated to the Cashmere Hills Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of August, 1903.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and two, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as the Cashmere Hills Domain Board, namely,—

The CHAIRMAN OF THE SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL,
His Worship the MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH,
The CHAIRMAN OF THE HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD,
JOHN THOMPSON BROWN,
WILLIAM DUNLOP,
CHARLES DICKENSON MORRIS, and
GEORGE WITTY

(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 2147, 4491·7 links; towards the east by Section No. 20922, 5256 links; towards the south by Sections Nos. 11227 and 11170, 4049·6 links; and towards the west by the Dyer’s Pass Road: subject nevertheless to a road-line, 1 chain wide, branching from the Dyer’s Pass Road, and leading to Section No. 11170: as the same is delineated on the official map in the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886,” and by “The Civil Service Examination Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby, in respect of the regulations made by Order in Council on the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and one, make the alterations and additions set forth in the Schedule hereto; and with the like advice and consent doth provide that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
