Schedule.

All rateable property comprising that part of the Borough of Masterton included within the following boundaries: Bounded towards the north-east by the right bank of the Waipoua River from the south-east boundary-line of the Akura Block to the east side of Columba Road: towards the east by the eastern side of the said Columba Road to the Kuripuni Stream: thence towards the south and south-east by the said Kuripuni Stream to Railway Road: thence towards the north-east generally by a line along the middle line of the said Railway Road to a point in a line with the southern boundary-line of Section 31, Masterton Small-farm Block; thence by a right line to the south corner of that section: thence north-west by Section 31 aforesaid to the Waipokaka Stream; thence by the Ngaumutawa Block, the Bishop's Reserve, and the Akura Block aforesaid, to the right bank of the Waipoua River opposite Section 63, Masterton Small-farm Block, the starting-point.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order made by the Masterton Borough Council on the 30th day of June, 1903, and confirmed on the 30th day of July, 1903.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Blenheim.

THE following special order, made by the Blenheim Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments.

I, WILLIAM HENRY MACEY, Mayor of the Borough of Blenheim, do solemnly declare,—

  1. That the following is a correct sealed copy of special order making special rate for an additional loan of £300 for the purpose of completing the purchase of land and erection of Borough of Blenheim abattoir:—

“His Worship the Mayor moved, and Councillor Shaw seconded, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by clause 10 of ‘The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,’ and clause 73 of ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,’ the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other charges on a further loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the purpose of completing the purchase of land and erection of abattoir, the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the borough as constituted by ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900’; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of September and the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off.—Motion carried.”

  1. The aforesaid resolution was passed at a special meeting of the said Blenheim Borough Council on Tuesday, the 9th day of June, 1903.

  2. The aforesaid resolution was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Blenheim Borough Council held on Monday, the 13th day of July, 1903, as follows:—

“His Worship the Mayor moved, and Councillor Penny seconded, That the special order be now made confirming resolution of the 9th day of June, 1903, levying a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the borough, as security for interest and other charges on further loan of £300 for the purchase of land and erection of abattoir.—Motion carried.”

  1. That the paper-writing hereto annexed, marked “A,” is a sealed, true, and correct copy of the special order levying the said rate.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, in and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882”; and have caused the seal of the said borough to be affixed hereto.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Marton.

THE following special order, made by the Marton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order authorising Payment of Interest and Sinking Fund out of General Fund.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 5 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” the Marton Borough Council hereby authorises and directs that the interest and sinking fund and other charges on loans authorised to be raised by the said Marton Borough Council as follows—£1,700 (for a term of forty-one years, interest payable at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum) for the purpose of the construction of a main drain within the Borough of Marton, £1,000 for the purpose of the extension of the mains and services and the improvement generally of the gasworks of the Borough of Marton, £1,500 for the purpose of the erection of a Town Hall and fire-brigade station within the Borough of Marton—shall be paid out of the General Fund of the Borough of Marton in lieu of collecting the special rates of 1½d., 1¼d., and 2¼d. in the pound sterling respectively made and levied in respect of the said loans of £1,700, £1,000, and £1,500 respectively: the above resolution to take effect as from the 1st June, 1903.

I, Sidney Skerman, Mayor of the Borough of Marton, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Marton Borough Council held on the 20th day of April, 1903, and confirmed
