Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

No. 41, 2nd Class Petty Officer FRANK BIGG, No. 2 Company New Zealand Garrison Artillery Volunteers, he having a total efficient service to the 28th February, 1903, of twenty years and two months.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Feilding.

THE following special order, made by the Feilding Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and section 66 of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” the Feilding Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, at 3½ per cent. per annum, and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Feilding Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the establishment of an abattoir, the said Feilding Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Feilding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was made at a special meeting of the Feilding Borough Council held on the 4th day of June, 1903, and duly confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 2nd day of July, 1903.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Feilding was hereto affixed, this 10th day of July, 1903.

I hereby certify that the Feilding Borough Council has, by special order, duly authorised the raising of the sum of £3,000 by way of special loan for the purpose of establishing an abattoir, under section 5 of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.”
