SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or less,
being Sections Nos. 21, 31, 32, 33, and 34, Mangawharariki
Township, Hautapu Survey District. Bounded towards
the north-west and north-east by public road; thence
towards the south-east by Section No. 16; and thence to-
wards the south-west by Kelpie Road : as the same is deli-
neated on the plan marked S.G. 40354, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured
red. For public-school reserve.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and three.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or par-
ticular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
land in the Marlborough Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land
so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
All that area situated in Blocks I., II., and V., Mount Fyffe
Survey District, in the Marlborough Land District, and
containing by admeasurement 188 acres, more or less—viz.,
21 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on the west bank of
the Puhipuhi River, and marked A on plan; 2 acres, being
an island situated in the middle of the Puhipuhi River,
and marked B on plan; 2 acres, being an island situated
near the east bank of the Puhipuhi River, and marked C on
plan; 54 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on the west
bank of the Puhipuhi River, and marked D on plan;
7 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on the west bank of
the Puhipuhi River, and marked E on plan; 4 acres, being
an island situated near the east bank of the Puhipuhi River,
and marked F on plan; 7 acres, being an island situated in
the middle of the Hapuku River, and marked G on plan;
2 acres, being an island situated near the middle of the
Hapuku River, and marked H on plan; 2 acres, being an
island situated near the north bank of the Hapuku River,
and marked I on plan; 13 acres, being a shingle-bank
situated on the east bank of the Hapuku River, and marked
J on plan; 5 acres, being an island situated in the middle of
the Hapuku River, and marked K on plan; 1 acre, being an
island situated near the east bank of the Hapuku River, and
marked L on plan; 6 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on
the east bank of the Hapuku River, and marked M on plan;
11 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on the west bank of
the Hapuku River, and marked N on plan; 8 acres, being a
shingle-bank situated on the east bank of the Hapuku River,
and marked O on plan; 4 acres, being a shingle-bank situ-
ated on the west bank of the Hapuku River, and marked P
on plan; 11 acres, being a shingle-bank situated on the east
bank of the Hapuku River, and marked Q on plan; 11 acres,
being an island situated in the middle of the Hapuku River,
and marked R on plan; 12 acres, being an island situated
near the middle of the Hapuku River, and marked S on
plan; 5 acres, being an island situated near the east bank of
the Hapuku River, and marked T on plan: as the same are
delineated on the plan marked S.G. 48021, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured
red. For improvement and protection of river.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and three.

Blocks V., IX., and XIII., Moawhango Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by Run No. 2 in the said district;
thence towards the east generally by the Tokaannu-Waiouru
main coach-road to the Waiouru Township Reserve, by the
said Waiouru Township Reserve, by the Waiouru Stream
and the Hautapu River in the said district; thence towards
the south by Subdivision No. 1¹ of the Raketa pauma Block
of Block IV., Maungakaretu Survey District; thence to-
wards the west and north-east by Murimotu No. 2a of Block
XIII., Moawhango Survey District aforesaid; and thence
towards the north-west by Murimotu No. 3b Block: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 46070, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured purple. For an endowment for primary education.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and three.

Amending the Regulations under “The Land for Settlements
Consolidation Act, 1900.”
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by Order made under his hand dated the
eighteenth day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette
of the twenty-first day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and one, certain regulations were made by the
Governor fixing the terms and conditions for the disposition
and occupation of lands acquired under “The Land for
Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and “The Land for
Settlements Amendment Act, 1901”:
And whereas it is expedient to amend clauses nine and
forty-two of the said regulations in manner as hereinafter
appears :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the said Acts, doth
hereby amend clauses nine and forty-two of the aforesaid
regulations by the addition of the following subclause to
each of the said clauses:—
“(3.) In addition to the limitations prescribed by sub-
clauses (1) and (2) hereof, a married woman shall also be
subject to the special limitation that the maximum area
which she shall be capable of applying for or holding shall
not exceed 320 acres of first-class land or 1,000 acres of
second-class land, irrespective, however, of any land that
her husband may be entitled to acquire or may hold: Pro-
vided that this special limitation shall not apply in the case
of a married woman who is separated from her husband
under decree of judicial separation, or is the holder of a
protection order, nor shall it operate to prevent a married
woman from becoming a lessee under a will or by virtue of
an intestacy.”
