Dividing Middle Island into Districts under “The Birds Nuisance Act, 1902.”—Notice No. 778.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth day of May, 1903.

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by “The Birds Nuisance Act, 1902,” that in order to insure concerted and simultaneous action the Governor, by Order in Council gazetted, may from time to time divide the whole or any portion of the colony into districts, with such names and boundaries as he thinks fit: And whereas it appears to be expedient to make provision as hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby divide the Middle Island of New Zealand into eight districts for the purposes of the said Act, and doth hereby assign to the said districts the names and boundaries set forth in the Schedule hereto respectively.

| North Canterbury District | The Counties of Amuri, Cheviot, Ashley, Mount Herbert, Akaroa, Selwyn, and Ashburton: including the City of Christchurch; the Boroughs of Akaroa, Ashburton, Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Lyttelton, New Brighton, Sumner, and Woolston; the Town Districts of Amberley, Hampstead, Tinwald, and Southbridge; and the Waipara, Ashley, Kowai, Mandeville and Rangiora, Eyreton, Cust, West Eyreton, and Oxford Road Districts. |
| South Canterbury District | The Counties of Geraldine, Levels, Mackenzie, Waimate, and Waitaki: including the Boroughs of Hampden, Oamaru, Temuka, Timaru, and Waimate; and the Town District of Geraldine. |
| North Otago District | The Counties of Maniototo, Waihemo, Waikouaiti, Peninsula, and Taieri: including the City of Dunedin; the Boroughs of Mosgiel, Caversham, Green Island, Maori Hill, Mornington, Roslyn, St. Kilda, South Dunedin, Hawkesbury, North-east Valley, Port Chalmers, West Harbour, Naseby, and Palmerston; the Town Districts of Grey and Outram; and the Portobello, Otago Heads, Peninsula, and Tomahawk Road Districts. |
| Middle Otago District | The Counties of Vincent, Tuapeka, Bruce, and Clutha: including the Boroughs of Alexandra, Cromwell, Balclutha, Kaitangata, Milton, Lawrence, Roxburgh, and Tapanui; and the Town District of Clinton. |
| Southland District | The Counties of Southland, Wallace, Fiord, and Lake: including the Boroughs of Arrowtown, Queenstown, Avenal, Campbelltown, East Invercargill, Gladstone, Gore, Invercargill, Mataura, North Invercargill, South Invercargill, Winton, and Riverton; and the Town Districts of Otautau and Wyndham. |

WHEREAS by section eleven of “The Mining Act, 1898,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, as he thinks fit, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor’s pleasure:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section eleven of “The Mining Act, 1898,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint
VICTOR GRACE DAY, Esquire,
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure.

Revoking Authority for Construction of Tidal Dock and Wharf, Greymouth.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth day of May, 1903.

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section two hundred and fourteen of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” that whenever the Governor is empowered to make an Order in Council for any purpose it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to alter, modify, and revoke such Order:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and two, and made in pursuance of the power given by the fourth section of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1883,” the Greymouth Harbour Board was authorised and empowered to execute or construct a tidal dock and wharf in the Lagoon at Greymouth, as shown on plan marked M.D. 2539:
And whereas it is advisable to revoke such Order in Council, and the authority thereby conferred:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section two hundred and fourteen of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and two, and every power and authority thereby conferred upon the said Board.

Notice extending Time for holding Election of Board of Conciliation, Marlborough Industrial District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by subsection four of section thirty-eight of “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1900,” it is provided that the Governor may from time to time extend the period within which any election shall be held for such time as he thinks fit: And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within which the first ordinary election of the members of the Board of Conciliation of the Marlborough Industrial District shall be held:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1900,” doth hereby extend the time within which the first ordinary election of the members of the Board of Conciliation of the Marlborough Industrial District shall be held to not later than the eighth day of June next.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and three.
