Increasing the Holding-area of Land to Settlers in the Myross Bush Village Settlement, Southland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of April, 1903.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, under the authority of the one-hundred-and-sixty-ninth section Of “The Land Act, 1892,” fixing the terms and conditions upon which certain village-settlement lends therein enumerated should be disposed of, it was provided that no lessee should hold more than ten acres in the Myross Bush Village Settlement:

And whereas it is expedient to increase the area that may be held by one person in the Myross Bush Village Settlement to fifteen acres:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the area in which the land in the Myross Bush Village Settlement shall be held, and doth by this present Order declare that on and after the date hereof any settler may apply for and acquire land therein of an area not exceeding fifteen acres in extent in the whole; and it is hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, aforesaid, shall apply, except as regards the area in which the sections may be held, to the Myross Bush Village Settlement aforesaid.

Vesting a Reserve in the Featherston County Council.

RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of April, 1903.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was permanently set aside as a reserve for ferry purposes on the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three:

And whereas in the opinion of the Governor it is expedient to vest the said land in the Featherston County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Featherston County,” in trust, as a reserve for ferry purposes.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Lena District, containing by admeasurement 88 acres, more or less, being Section No. 9, Block IX., Haurangi Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east by Section No. 65, Raniere’s Reserve; towards the south by channel from Onoke Lake; and towards the west by Onoke Lake: as the same is delineated “in the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of April, 1903.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Government Valuation of Land Act Amendment Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint the persona named in the Schedule hereto to be members of the Assessment Court for the special districts set opposite the name of each respectively.
