special order that the three wards, named respectively the North, Middle, and South Wards, of the Borough of Westport, be abolished, such abolition to date from the 9th day of April next.

The above special order was duly passed by the Westport Borough Council at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 19th day of February, 1903, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 23rd day of March, 1903.

FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice.

THE following special order making a special rate was passed at a special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council held on the 9th day of February, 1903, and was submitted for confirmation and confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held on Monday, the 9th day of March, 1903:—

“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,’ the Foxton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000 authorised to be raised by the Foxton Borough Council under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and amendment of 1902, for construction of certain roads and streets, said loan being for two successive years’ expenditure, the said Foxton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3¼d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Foxton, Crown and Native lands excepted, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

ELTHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof respectively, the Eltham Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £16,000 authorised to be raised by the Eltham Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof respectively, to provide water-supply works (£4,000) and drainage-works (£12,000) for the borough, the said Eltham Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⁷⁄₈d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Eltham (on the basis of capital value); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until such loan is fully paid off; the interest to be paid on such loan being at the rate of £3½ per cent. per annum, and such loan being for two successive years’ expenditure.

The above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Eltham Borough Council held on 16th February, 1903, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on 18th March, 1903.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Egmont Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum and other charges on a loan of £600, authorised to be raised by the Egmont Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of metalling the Egmont Road, in the County of Taranaki, in parts where at present unmetalled and within the boundary over which the Egmont Road Board has control, the said Egmont Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⁵⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Egmont Lower Road Special-rating District, comprising,—
