Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Section 373, broken to undulating land; half mixed forest, tawhero, half fern; soil, a light clay, poor to fair in quality. Section 374, broken to undulating; one-fifth mixed forest, balance fern; soil, light clay, poor to fair. Sections 375 and 376, broken land; mixed forest, consisting of tawhero and tawa; soil, a fair loamy clay; there are a few fern spurs of poor quality. Section 379, broken; mixed forest, consisting of tawhero and tawa; soil, a fair loamy clay; about 30 acres of small alluvial flats. Section 380, broken land; about 50 acres fern spurs, rest covered with mixed forest; soil, clay, poor to fair. Section 382, broken forest land; fair clay soil. Sections 383 to 386, broken to undulating; land of semi-volcanic nature, and very good quality, covered with mixed forest, principally tawa, with a few odd totaras. All the foregoing sections are well watered, but, generally speaking, good fencing-material is scarce. Land is mostly suitable only for grazing. The block is situated from eighteen to twenty-two miles from Hamilton, eleven to fifteen miles from Whata-whata, and nine to twelve miles from Pirongia. There is a dairy factory on main road, about two miles from eastern end of block.

Trustees for the Barrhill Public Cemetery appointed.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Unlawful to take Oysters in Northern Subdivision of Northern Oyster-fishery.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS it is, amongst other things, enacted by section fifteen of “The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894,” that the Governor may from time to time declare any bay, estuary, or tidal waters in the colony to be an oyster-fishery, and prescribe the subdivisions thereof wherein it shall be lawful and unlawful to take oysters:
And whereas, by Warrant under the hand of the Governor dated the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirty-first day of the same month, the Northern Oystery-fishery was constituted and divided into subdivisions:
And whereas, by Warrant dated the twelfth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-first day of the same month, it was declared lawful to take oysters in the Northern Subdivision of the said oyster-fishery, and it is now desirable that it should be declared unlawful to take oysters in such subdivision:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the herein-before-recited power and authority, doth hereby declare and prescribe that it shall, on and after the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and three, be unlawful to take oysters in the Northern Subdivision of the Northern Oyster-fishery.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and three.

NOTE.—The Northern Subdivision of the Northern Oyster-fishery extends from North Cape to high-water mark of the sea due east of Trig. Station No. 3, Mataka, near Cape Wiwiki.
