ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of March, 1903.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Waipu Agricultural Association, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said association, agreeably to the rules of the said association and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the said Act, under the style and title of “The Waipu Agricultural Association.”

Terms and Conditions of Lease of Village-homestead Allotments in Wellington.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of March, 1903.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by the one-hundred-and-sixty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor in Council may fix the terms and conditions upon which the lands in any village settlement shall be disposed of, subject as in the said section is provided: And whereas by a Proclamation made under the said Act on the twenty-fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and three, the lands described in the First Schedule hereto have been set apart under the said Act and declared open for lease as village settlements, and it is expedient to fix the terms and conditions upon which the said lands shall be disposed of:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix the terms and conditions on which the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto shall be disposed of by way of lease in perpetuity, and which said terms and conditions are set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, and also doth direct that the lands shall be leased as village-homestead allotments only.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—RANGITIKEI COUNTY.—OHINE-WAIRUA SURVEY DISTRICT.—TAIHAPE VILLAGE SETTLEMENT EXTENSION.

These sections are situated south of Taihape Township, the access being by metalled dray-road for distances varying from three-quarters of a mile to a mile and a quarter, and by surveyed road for remaining distances of about a quarter of a mile. They comprise flat, sloping, and hilly lands, having soil of a good quality on a papa formation. With the exception of Section 85 and a small area of Section 89, which are in grass, all the sections are covered by forest, which comprises kahikatea, matai, maire, &c., with the usual undergrowth. With the exception of a small stream on Sections 89 and 92 there is no water.

The owners of improvements will be given one month from date of sale in which to remove those they have effected.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. THE lands enumerated above are first-class lands, and are village-homestead allotments, open for selection on lease in perpetuity under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”).

  2. The day on which the lands shall be open for selection shall be Tuesday, the 12th day of May, 1903.

ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 41, of the 25th April, 1901, page 948, for “William Cameron Morrison,” appointed Lieutenant New Zealand Militia, read “Wilson Cameron Morrison.”
