Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Extension of the Midland Railway from Reefton to Inangahua—namely, from Reefton to Inangahua Landing.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS an extension of the Midland Railway from Reefton to Inangahua is a railway specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1900,” which Act is, in the fourth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such extension: And whereas such extension is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
Commencing at a point in the Reefton Station-yard, on the line of railway constructed by the New Zealand Midland Railway Company (Limited), the said point being marked 38 miles 65 chains; proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction for a distance of about 15 miles 58 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., railway land, Sections Nos. 135, 251, and 134, Block XIII., Reefton Survey District: Section No. 133, Block XIV.; Section No. 130, Block XIII.; Section No. 132, Block XIV.; Section No. 203, Block X.; Section No. 189, Railway Reserve, C.R. No. 7, Sections Nos. 98, 97, 96, 249, 248, and 245, Block IX.; Sections Nos. 2, 58, 56, 54, 52, and 50, Block V.; Sections Nos. 47, 44, 41, 38, 35, 32, 29, 26, 23, 20, and 18, Block VI.; Sections Nos. 16, 14, 12, 11, 9, 8, and 174, Crown land, Sections Nos. 7, 5, 4, 2A, 49, 46, 43, and 41, Block II.; all in the Reefton Survey District: Sections Nos. 38, 36, 33, 31, 28, 26, 23, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 (E.R.), 9, 6, and 5, Block XII.; Sections Nos. 4, 3A, 2A, 6, 1, and 2, and
Reserve No. 15, Block VIII., all in the Inangahua Survey District—and terminating at a point marked 54 miles 43 chains, situated on the north-eastern boundary of said Reserve No. 15, Block VIII., Inangahua Survey District, and distant about 22 chains from the northernmost corner of said reserve; including all intervening and adjoining places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 20229, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Land taken for a Road through Portion of Section 4, Block IV., Ngai re Survey District, in Connection with the Stratford-Kawakawa Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through portion of Section 4, Block IV., Ngai re Survey District, in connection with the Stratford-Kawakawa Railway:
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Proclamation should be issued:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road as aforesaid.
