Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force
upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling
me under “The Government Railways Act, 1900,”
I, Charles Houghton Mills, acting for the Minister for Rail-
ways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale
of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand
Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to
come into force on and after the 4th day of March, 1903 :—

PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.

(41.) FEILDING AND DISTRICT INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.

Exhibits consigned for exhibition at the Feilding and
District Industrial Exhibition, to be held at Feilding on the
24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th March, 1903, will be carried
free on the New Zealand Government railways, provided
that they shall be so carried at the sole risk of the con-
signors, and that each package shall be consigned to the
Secretary of the Exhibition, and marked legibly “For exhibit
at the Feilding and District Industrial Exhibition, Feilding.”
The loading and unloading must be done at the expense of
the consignors. In the event of such exhibits being sold
the full railway charges must be paid.

Exhibits returning will be conveyed free, provided no sale
or exchange has been effected. A certificate to this effect
must be produced, signed by the Secretary of the Exhibition,
before the goods can be received for transit free of charge.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road through Raketapauma
No. 1b Block, Maungakaretu Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under
the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,”
that the road described in the Schedule hereto was duly laid
off, in March, 1902, through the land specified in the said
Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said
colony, by Warrant dated 22nd November, 1901.

Notice of the Laying-off of Road through Native Land
in Parapara No. 2 and Rangiwaea 4f No. 14b.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under
the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act,
1894,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was
duly taken and laid off, in January, 1901, through the
lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority
of the Governor of the said colony, by Warrant dated
15th February and 11th October, 1900.

Notice to Imprestees under “The Public Revenues Act, 1891.”

The Treasury,
Wellington, 25th February, 1903.

EVERY officer holding advances of public money is
hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at
the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the un-
expended balance in his hand on or before Tuesday,
the 31st March proximo, and forthwith to transmit to
the Treasury at Wellington the bank receipt for such repay-
ment, together with an account of his expenditure to the
same date, as required by clause 4 of the Treasury Regu-
lations.

As respects disbursements which officers may require to
make immediately after the close of the financial year,
requisitions for the amount required are to be made in
such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later
than the 14th March, so that the requisite funds may be
placed at the disposal of the officer on the 1st April or as
soon after as possible.

Bonus for Treatment of Auriferous Black Sand.

Mines Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 14th November, 1901.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of £2,000 will be
paid to any person who, before the 1st January, 1904,
shall invent such appliances as will successfully save gold
from black sands in New Zealand.
