owners of the lands hereinafter mentioned, and with
the consent of the Whangarei County Council, being the
local authority in whose district the said lands are situated,
do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the
lands in the Hukerenui Survey District hereinafter de-
scribed, that is to say,--

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as
above noted, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of
Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of February,
in the year of our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and three.

Addition to Otau Domain brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
third day of February, 1903.

Present:

THE HON. W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves
Act, 1881,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made
for public recreation in the Auckland Land District, de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act,
1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, ad-
ministered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said
Act.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being Allot-
ment No. 26 of Section No. 2 of the Village of Otau, con-
taining by admeasurement 26 perches, more or less.
Bounded towards the north-east by Allotments Nos. 20 and
21 of Section No. 2 of the Village of Otau; towards the
south-east by a public road; towards the south-west by the
Wairoa River; and towards the north-west by Allotment
No. 27 of Section No. 2 aforesaid to the point of commence-
ment.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, being
Allotments Nos. 28, 31, and 32 of Section No. 2 of the
Village of Otau, containing by admeasurement 2 roods
22 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east
by Allotment No. 25 of Section No. 2 of the Village of Otau;
towards the south-east by Allotments Nos. 29 and 30 of the
said Section No. 2; again towards the north-east by the
said Allotment No. 30; again towards the south-east by a
public road; towards the south-west by the Wairoa River;
and towards the north-west by a public road to the point of
commencement.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked S.G.
49117, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District,
and thereon coloured red.

Land taken for Waimarama Native School.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
third day of February, 1903.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is required for a certain public work, to wit, a
Native school:

And whereas it has been made a condition of the esta-
blishment of the said Native school that the site required
therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His
Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to
such condition, and it has been made to appear that such
agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be
effected thereby:

And whereas by an order of the Native Land Court
dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-four, under “The Native Land Divi-
sion Act, 1882,” certain aboriginal natives, as in the said
order mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the
Waipuka No. 2 Block, within which the said land is
situated:

And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act,
1894,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the
position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto
attached:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment
Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order and declare that the land shown upon the said map
and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His
Majesty the King from the thirty-first day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and three.

Appointing Interpreters of Cook and other Islands Land Titles Court.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
third day of February, 1903.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. C. WALKER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by “The Cook
and other Islands Government Act, 1901,” His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand did, by Order
in Council dated the seventh day of July, one thousand
nine hundred and two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the tenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred
and two, constitute and appoint a tribunal to be called
“The Cook and other Islands Land Titles Court,” with the
jurisdiction and powers in the said Order in Council set
forth:

And whereas it is expedient to appoint interpreters of the
said Court so established as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by “The Cook and
other Islands Government Act, 1901,” and of every other
power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
