Lands taken for a Public Road in Tokatoka Survey District.

(L.S.) A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of a public road, in the Tokatoka Survey District:

And whereas the Hobson County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purpose of a public road.

All in the Auckland Land District; as the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plans marked as above mentioned, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above stated.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Land in the Borough of Palmerston North taken for a Rifle Range.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain public work, to wit, the formation of a rifle range at Palmerston North:

And whereas agreements for the taking of the estate in fee-simple of the said land have been entered into, and it has been made to appear that such agreements are sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:

And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Proclamation should be issued:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a rifle range as aforesaid.

Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Gisborne–Karaka Railway—namely, the Extension from the Left Bank of the Waipaoa River to Karaka.

WHEREAS an extension of the Gisborne–Karaka Railway from the left bank of the Waipaoa River to Karaka (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1902”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the same:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point about 45½ chains west and 24 chains south of the easternmost corner of Section 62, Block IX., Waimata Survey District, which point is also a point on the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 20th day of September, 1901, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 86, of the 26th day of September, 1901; proceeding thence generally in a northerly and westerly direction for a distance of about 5 miles 11 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Subdivision E (648) Pukepapa Block, Ruangarehu No. 1 Block (576 and 524A), Subdivisions C (779) and D (782) Ruangarehu Block 820B, all in Block VIII., Waikohu Survey District; Subdivisions D (782) and E (776) Ruangarehu Block
