Returning Officers appointed for Maori Electoral Districts.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Electoral Act, 1902,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the following persons to be Returning Officers for the Maori Electoral Districts hereinafter mentioned :—
For the Northern Maori Electoral District :
Edward Clare Blomfield.
For the Eastern Maori Electoral District :
John Brooking.
For the Western Maori Electoral District :
George Thomas Wilkinson.
For the Southern Maori Electoral District :
Helyar Wedderburn Bishop.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and two.

THE following writs for the election of members of the House of Representatives for the Maori Electoral Districts are published in the Gazette in accordance with the provisions of “The Electoral Act, 1902.”
HUGH POLLEN,
Clerk of the Writs.
To the Returning Officer for the Northern Maori Electoral District.
IN pursuance of Part IV. of “The Electoral Act, 1902,” I hereby authorise and require you to proceed, according to law, to the election of a member to serve in the House of Representatives for the Northern Maori Electoral District, and that you cause the nomination of the said member to be at the Courthouse at Kororareka, on the twenty-seventh day of November, 1902, and, in the event of the election being contested, that the poll shall be taken on the twenty-second day of December, 1902.
You are further required to indorse on this writ the name of the person so elected, and then to return the writ to me on or before the thirteenth day of January, 1903.
Dated at Wellington, this eleventh day of November, 1902.

To the Returning Officer for the Eastern Maori Electoral District.
IN pursuance of Part IV. of “The Electoral Act, 1902,” I hereby authorise and require you to proceed, according to law, to the election of a member to serve in the House of Representatives for the Eastern Maori Electoral District, and that you cause the nomination of the said member to be at the Courthouse, at Gisborne, on the twenty-seventh day of November, 1902, and, in the event of the election being contested, that the poll shall be taken on the twenty-second day of December, 1902.
You are further required to indorse on this writ the name of the person so elected, and then to return the writ to me on or before the thirteenth day of January, 1903.
