Special Order made by the Selwyn County Council.

THE following special order, made by the Selwyn County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Water-supply Act, 1891,” and “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Council of the County of Selwyn hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Selwyn County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction of water-races, the said Selwyn County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Coalgate Water-supply District, constituted by special order made on the 31st July, 1901; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorised to be raised by the Selwyn County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction of a water-race, the said Selwyn County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Waimakariri Water-supply District, constituted by special orders made on the 26th August, 1884, 7th April, 1886, 28th December, 1886, 7th September, 1887, and 28th August, 1888; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads through Native Lands, Opaku Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were, in February, 1901, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by Warrant dated the 5th November, 1900.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate Area of Land taken. Situated in Native Block Situated in Survey District Shown on Plan marked Coloured on Plan

In the Taranaki Land District; as the said areas are delineated upon a plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road through Land in Motukawa Block No. 2, Moawhango and Ohinewairua Survey Districts.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 92 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 20th March, 1900, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by Warrant dated the 16th January, 1900.

Approximate Area of the Land taken. Being Portion of Native Block Block, and situated in the Survey District Shown on Plan marked Coloured on Plan

In the Land District of Wellington; as the said area is delineated upon the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
