Special Order made by the Waipawa County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Waipawa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Waipawa County Council altering the Boundaries of Ridings.

RESOLVED, That it be a special order of this Council that the Rua:aniwha Riding in the Waipawa County, the boundaries of which are described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th May, 1887, and the 2nd March, 1892, less the Wakarara Outlying District, be now divided into two ridings, such ridings to be called the Ruataniwha Riding and the Takapau Riding; and that the Waipawa Riding in the Waipawa County, the boundaries of which are described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th May, 1887, be divided into two ridings, such ridings to be called the Waipawa Riding and the Hampden Riding—the Hampden Riding to include the Wakarara Outlying District; and, further, that the Dannevirke Riding in the Waipawa County, the boundaries of which are described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th May, 1887, be divided into two ridings, such ridings to be called the Dannevirke Riding and the Mangatoro Riding: the boundaries of such ridings to be as follows:—

Ruataniwha Riding.

All that area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay bounded towards the north generally by the centre of the Waipawa River to its intersection with the Waipawa-Waipukurau Road; thence towards the south-east by the Waipawa-Waipukurau Road to the south bank of the Tukituki River; thence along the south bank of the Tukituki River in a westerly direction to the junction of the Tukituki and Makaretu Rivers; thence in a westerly direction along the centre of the Tukituki River to its intersection with the county boundary; thence along the county boundary in a northerly direction to its intersection with the Waipawa River, the place of commencement.

Takapau Riding.

All that area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay bounded towards the north by the centre of the Tukituki River to its intersection with the Makaretu River; thence in a southerly direction by the Makaretu River to its junction with the Maharaeke Stream; thence in a southerly direction by the Maharaeke Stream to the south-west corner of Block XLVIII., Takapau Survey District; thence in a southerly and westerly direction by Blocks LXX., LXVIII., and LXV., Takapau Survey District, to the Waikopiro Stream; thence down the Waikopiro Stream to its junction with the Manawatu River; thence up the Manawatu River to its intersection with the Norsewood-Takapau Road; thence along that road in a northerly direction to the junction of the old and new Norsewood-Takapau Roads; thence by a straight line due north to the Makaretu River; thence up the Makaretu River to the county boundary; and thence in a north-westerly direction along that boundary to its intersection with the Tukituki River, the place of commencement.

Waipawa Riding.

All that area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay bounded towards the east by the Patangata County; towards the south by the centre of the Waipawa River to its junction with the Manganuku Stream; thence up the Manganuku Stream to its junction with the Mangatahi Stream; thence up the Mangatahi Stream to the south-west corner of Block 142; thence by the western boundary of Block 142 to its intersection with the Hawke’s Bay County boundary; thence along the Hawke’s Bay County boundary in an easterly direction to its intersection with the Patangata County boundary; thence along that boundary in an easterly direction to its intersection with the Waipawa River, the place of commencement.

Hampden Riding.

All that area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay bounded towards the east generally by the Waipawa Riding; towards the south by the centre of the Waipawa River to its intersection with the county boundary; thence in a north-easterly and easterly direction along the county boundary to the north-east corner of Block XIII., Maraekakaho Survey District; thence along the Waipawa Riding boundary in a southerly direction to its intersection with the Waipawa River, the place of commencement.

Dannevirke Riding.

All that area in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay bounded towards the south by the Woodville County, commencing at the point where the Mangapukahu Stream intersects the boundary of the Pohangina County; thence down the Mangapukahu Stream to its intersection with the Oruakeretaki Stream; thence down the Oruakeretaki Stream to its intersection with the Manawatu River; thence in an easterly direction up the centre of the Manawatu River to its intersection with the Dannevirke-Weber Main Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Dannevirke-Weber Main Road to its intersection with the Mangatera
