Lands temporarily reserved in the Land District of Southland.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land District of Southland described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Land District of Southland, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 19 perches, more or less, being Section No. 74, Township of Clifden. Bounded towards the north by Horrell Road; towards the north-east by King Terrace; towards the south by Section No. 6, Block I., Lillburn Survey District; and towards the west by Section No. 76, Township of Clifden: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 48840, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a cemetery.
All that area in the Land District of Southland, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 883, Hokonui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 634, 2300 links; thence towards the north-east by the said Section No. 634, 100 links; thence towards the east generally by the Winton Stream; thence towards the south by the said Section No. 634, 755 links; and thence towards the south-west by a public road, 197 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 48777, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For acclimatisation purposes.

Amending the Description of a Reserve in the Wellington Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that where there has been any error of description made in any notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may cancel any notification that may have been made in respect of such reserve, and issue fresh notifications in respect thereof, with amended particulars and descriptions: And whereas an error was made in the area of Section No. 1, Block VII., Kaitieke Survey District, Wellington Land District, which was wrongly stated as one thousand three hundred and twenty-five acres in the Warrant of the seventeenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and in the Proclamation of the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, and published in Gazettes Nos. 55, of the twenty-third day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and 78, of the ninth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, respectively, reserving the land for an endowment for primary education; and it is expedient to cancel the said notification and Proclamation in so far as they relate to Section No. 1, Block VII., Kaitieke Survey District, aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrant of the seventeenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and the Proclamation of the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, in so far as they relate to Section No. 1, Block VII., Kaitieke Survey District, and do declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be the land set apart as an endowment for primary education intended by the said notification and Proclamation.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,327 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block VII., Kaitieke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Oio No. 2 Road; towards the north-east by Crown lands; and towards the south by Oio No. 1 Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 48701, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red. For primary-education reserve.

ALL that area in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Section No. 3551 (in red), Kapua Settlement, Block I., Waitaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 12636, 450·1 links; towards the east by Section No. 1 of the said Kapua Settlement, 603·1 links; towards the south by the said Section No. 1, 400 links; and towards the west by the road forming the western boundary of the said Section No. 1, 396·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 18890, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a school reserve.
All that area in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 3552 (in red), Lyndon No. 1 Settlement, Block IX., Waiau Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of Section No. 3 of the Lyndon No. 1 Settlement, the said point being distant easterly about 2552·1 links along the said road from the Dog Brook, and proceeding thence easterly along the said road 300 links; thence northerly at right angles to the said road 333·3 links; thence westerly at right angles to the last-mentioned line 300 links; and thence southerly along a right line to the point of commencement: be the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19224, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a gravel reserve.
All that area in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 3553 (in red), Lyndon No. 1 Settlement, Block IX., Waiau Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 3 of the Lyndon No. 1 Settlement, the said point being distant south-westerly 225·9 links from the easternmost corner of the said section, and proceeding thence south-westerly along the said road 428·6 links; thence north-westerly at right angles to the said road 350 links; thence north-easterly at right angles to the last-mentioned line 428·6 links; and thence south-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19224, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red. For a gravel reserve.
