HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to
Surgeon-Major HARRY COMPTON PARSONS,
New Zealand Volunteer Medical Staff, he having a total efficient rank and commissioned service counting towards the medal, to the 10th July, 1902, of twenty years five months and twenty-four days.

Notice to Mariners No. 58 of 1902.
NORTH COAST OF PERU.—EXHIBITION OF LIGHT AT SUPE.

Wellington, 15th August, 1902.
NOTICE has been received from the Consul for Peru at Auckland that a lighthouse has been erected at the Port of Supe, Province of Chancay, Department of Lima, Peru, and is situated in approximately latitude 10° 48′ 15″ S. and longitude 77° 45′ 37″ W. of Greenwich. The light, which was exhibited on the 1st June last, is placed in a white conical tower on Punta Patillo, at the south entrance to the port. The height of the tower above high water is 128⅓ ft., and the height of the focal plane is 120⅓ ft. The light is fixed white, fifth order, catoptric, and is visible at a range of eleven miles; and the sector of illumination covers an arc of the horizon of 96° 26′ from Cape Thomas S. 38° 34′ W. to Point Santander to N.W. magnetic.
