Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Timaru.

THE following special order, made by the Timaru Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Borough Abattoir.—Special Order for making Special Rate.

At a special meeting of the Timaru Borough Council held on the 4th day of August, 1902, at the Borough Council Chambers, Timaru, at 12 o’clock noon: Proposed by William Priest, seconded by John Hole, That this Council do now resolve that the following resolution—viz., “That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,’ ‘The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,’ and ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ the Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorised to be raised by the Timaru Borough Council under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the purpose of establishing an abattoir for the Borough of Timaru, the said Timaru Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable property of the Borough of Timaru, comprising all that area within the boundaries set forth in the Third Schedule to the Proclamation published on page 1192 of the New Zealand Gazette of the 28th July, 1898, numbered 57, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. That a special meeting of the Council be called for and held on the 4th day of August, 1902, at the Borough Council Chambers, Timaru, at 12 o’clock noon, for the purpose of confirming the foregoing resolution”—which said resolution was adopted by the Council at a special meeting thereof held on the 5th day of July, 1902, be now confirmed as a special order, and that the common seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

I, James Craigie, Mayor of the Borough of Timaru, hereby certify that the Timaru Borough Council has, by special order, duly authorised the raising of the sum of £5,500 by way of special loan for the purpose of establishing an abattoir under section 5 of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.”

Notifying Land in the Canterbury Land District subject to “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900.”

PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” I hereby notify that the Crown lands specified in the Schedule hereunder, which have been acquired under the said Act, are severally subject to the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

RURAL SECTION 1862.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 20 acres, more or less, situated in Block IV. of the Nimrod Survey District, being Rural Section 1862; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19211, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

PART OF RURAL SECTION 2682.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 6 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, situated in Block II. of the Opawa Survey District, being that part of Rural Section 2682 eastward of the road intersecting the said section; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 18809, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

RURAL SECTION 36278.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 618 acres 2 roods, more or less, situated in Blocks I. and II. of the Meyer Survey District, and being Rural Section 36278; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19242, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

HOMESTEAD 36057.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 58 acres and 16 perches, more or less, situated in Block VI. of the Opawa Survey District, comprising Rural Section 34598 and parts of Rural Sections 27673 and 34597; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19271, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

HOMESTEAD 36231.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 98 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, situated in Block I. of the Waimate Survey District, comprising Rural Sections 13991, 18212, 20669, 31675, 33005, and 33006; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19266, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

HOMESTEAD 36228.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 100 acres 3 roods 23 perches, more or less, situated in Block XII., Nimrod Survey District, comprising parts of Rural Sections 22851, 24723, 27621, and 31932; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 38479, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

SECTION 36469.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 154 acres 3 roods 2 perches, more or less, situated in Block IV., Nimrod Survey District, comprising Rural Sections 25375, 29737, and 29738; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19211, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres or thereabouts, situated in Block XVIII. of the Waikari Survey District, being part of Rural Section 7538; as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 19033, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
