In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the matter of the Horseshoe Bend Gold-dredging Company (in liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Horseshoe Bend Gold-dredging Company (Limited), held in the registered office of the company, Otago Harbour Board Buildings, No. 36, Vogel Street, Dunedin, on Monday, the 28th day of July, 1902, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that it be wound up voluntarily accordingly.”

And at the same meeting Mr. JOHN FERGUSON HARPER, of No. 36, Vogel Street, Dunedin, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above company, held at the registered office of the company, Crawford Street, Dunedin, on Friday, 25th July, 1902, at 5.15 o’clock in the afternoon, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

A further resolution was passed at the above meeting appointing DAVID LESLIE, of Dunedin, Accountant, Liquidator of the said company for the purposes of such winding-up.

In the matter of the Guntons Beach Amalgamated Gold-dredging Company (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, No. 3, Bond Street, Dunedin, on Friday, the 25th day of July, 1902, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the same meeting SIDNEY THORPE MIRAMS, of Dunedin, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at Dunedin on Tuesday, the 15th day of April, 1902, the following extraordinary resolutions were duly passed, that is to say,—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

“That Mr. A. M. SIDEN be appointed Liquidator.”

THE ALPINE CONSOLS DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, at Dunedin, on the 30th day of July, 1902, the subjoined extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the said meeting it was resolved that LAWFORD GODFREY REEVES, of Dunedin, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of winding up the said company.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A TAIL-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Gore.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, Michael Foley, of Gore, Mining Registrar, hereby applies for a license for a main tail-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 18th July, 1902; No. 13025.

Address for service: At the office of D. L. Poppelwell, Solicitor, Mersey Street, Gore.

Dated at Gore, this 31st day of July, 1902.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and its starting and terminal points: The tail-race is situated in the Southland Land District, near the Town of Gore, partly in the Waimumu Hundred and partly in the Hokonui District, and commences in the Charlton Creek, near the road-bridge, at a point marked “B” on the plan annexed to the deed of agreement herein-after referred to, and terminating at the junction of the Charlton Creek with the Mataura River.

Length and intended course of race: Running in a straight line from the point of commencement in a south-westerly direction through Section 5 for a distance of about 11 chains to the boundary-line between Waimumu Hundred and Hokonui District; thence following down the said boundary-line due south between Sections 5, 4, 3, 2, and Sections 44, 43, and 42, twice crossing the said creek to a point marked “C” on said plan, for a total distance of about 99 chains; then generally following the bed of the said creek and cutting off the bends in a south-westerly direction through Sections 42 and 41 to a point marked “D” on the said plan, a total distance of about 32 chains, more or less; and from thence following the said creek-bed through Sections 40, 41, and 45 for a distance of about 44 chains, more or less, to the railway-bridge; thence following the bed of the creek in a south-easterly and southerly direction for a distance of 76 chains, through Sections 4 and 62, to its termination on the Mataura River: total length, about 262 chains. The entire line of the said tail-race is particularly shown in red on the said plan; pegs marked X.

Its greatest depth: 5 ft.

Its greatest width on top: 15 ft.

Its greatest width at bottom: 5 ft.

Estimated time of construction: Six months.

Estimated cost of construction: £1,000.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Persons by whom and the terms upon which the race is to be used:—

  1. The Charlton Creek Gold-dredging Company (Limited), in respect of their mining area, being on part of Sections 7 and 8, Plan 83 (Charlton Creek Block), and also special claim over road situated in the Charlton Creek Valley.
