Proposed Alterations in Boundaries of Electoral Districts,
North Island.
Wellington, 25th June, 1902.
THE Commissioners for the North Island appointed under “The Representation Act Amendment Act, 1896,” and in accordance with the provisions of “The Representation Act, 1887,” and the amendments thereof, hereby publish for general information, in terms of section 4 of the last-named Act, the following proposed alterations in the boundaries of electoral districts; and, further, give notice that written objections to the same will be received at the office of the North Island Commission, care of the Surveyor-General, Wellington, up to and including Thursday, the 7th August, 1902.
Maps of the proposed districts will be furnished to each local body in the colony, and may also be seen at the Chief Surveyors’ Offices at Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, and Wellington.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.
BAY OF ISLANDS.
Bay of Islands District comprises the Counties of Mangonui, Whangaroa, and Bay of Islands, and the whole of Hokianga County less the Waipoua Riding thereof; together with Otonga Riding of Whangarei County, that portion of Hikurangi Riding of Whangarei County lying west of the Whakapara and Wairua Rivers, that portion of Wairua Riding situated to the north of the Moengawahine River and Aponga Post-office, and the north-west corner of Maunu Riding of Whangarei County situated north of the Mangakahia River and west of the Hikurangi River.
KAIPARA.
Kaipara District comprises the whole of the County of Hobson; the Waipoua Riding of Hokianga County; the Tokatoka, Matakobe, Paparoa, and Whakapirau Ridings of Otamatea County; that portion of Kaiwaka Riding of Otamatea County situated west of the Main North Road; that portion of Albert Riding of Rodney County situated south-west of Te Hana River known as Albertland South and Wharehine Road Districts; and the whole of Tauhoa Riding of Rodney County excepting that portion situated east of Sections 69, 70, 145, 75, 77, 78, 79, 80, 128, and 111, Parish of Tauhoa; also that portion of Upper Mahurangi Riding of Rodney County lying west of the Onehunga Stream and the Kaitoto Stream, near Kaipara Flat Post-office; the whole of Mairetahi Riding of Waitemata County; and that portion of Kaukapakapa Riding of Waitemata County situated north-west of a line commencing where the Helensville Railway-line crosses the Waipatukahu Stream, near Reweti Railway-station, and proceeding thence easterly along the railway-line to the Ahukuramu Stream, thence northerly along that stream to the Kumeu River, thence along the Kumeu River to the Waikoukou River, and thence along the Waikoukou River to the eastern boundary of Kaukapakapa Riding. Helensville Town District is in this district.
MARSDEN.
Marsden District comprises the Borough of Whangarei; the whole of Whangarei County less Otonga Riding, and those portions of Hikurangi, Wairua, and Maunu Ridings absorbed by the Bay of Islands District, hereinbefore described; the Mareretu and Wairau Ridings of Otamatea County; that portion of Kaiwaka Riding of Otamatea County lying east of the Main North Road; that portion of Albert Riding of Rodney County situated north of Te Hana River known as Albertland North and Mainene Road Districts; the Omaha, Hoteo, and Matakana Ridings of Rodney County; that portion of Tauhoa Riding of Rodney County situated east of Sections Nos. 69, 70, 145, 75, 77, 78, 79, 80, 128, and 111, Parish of Tauhoa; the whole of Upper Mahurangi Riding of Rodney County excepting that portion situated west of the Onehunga Stream and Kaitoto Stream which is included in the Kaipara District, hereinbefore described, and excepting also that further portion of the Upper Mahurangi bounded towards the north by the road leading from Warkworth towards Kaipara Flats; towards the east by the Main North Road; towards the south by Puhoi Riding; and towards the west by the road intersecting Section No. 13, Parish of Kourawhero, and by that road continued intersecting Sections Nos. 12 and 11 to Kaipara Flats: together with Mokohinau Lighthouse and adjacent islands. Kamo Town District is in this district,
