Of the 207 persons living on the Chatham Islands at the time of the census, 2 were returned as belonging to Order 1, 5 to Order 2, 7 to Order 3, 1 to Order 11, 1 to Order 16, 2 to Order 21, 5 to Order 23, 55 to Order 24, 2 to Order 25, and 127 to Order 26. On the Kermadec Islands, 4 of the 8 inhabitants belonged to Order 24 and 4 to Order 26.

MINING NOTICES.

THE UPPER CLUTHA GOLD-DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).

THE following resolutions were passed at a meeting of shareholders of the Upper Clutha Gold-dredging Company (Limited) held at No. 1, Vogel Street, Dunedin, on the 10th April, 1902:—

(1.) “Resolved, That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up same.”

(2.) “Resolved, That Mr. L. G. Reeves be appointed the Liquidator, his fee to be fixed by the debenture-holders.”
