Leprosy declared to be an Infectious Disease.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of section thirteen of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the disease called or known as “leprosy” is an infectious disease within the meaning of the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and two.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waipipi Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

THE following is the result of the poll taken in the Otawa Public Hall, on Friday, 20th December, 1901, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £1,600 for the purpose of metalling the Otawa Swamp Road and Otawa Swamp-Creamery Road :—

For the proposal, 46 votes; against the proposal, 19.

As the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are more than three-fifths of the total number of votes recorded, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Manchester Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

THAT, in order to provide the interest on a loan of £250 to be borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” the Manchester Road Board doth hereby make and levy a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of the following properties within the Manchester Road District—viz., Lots 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, part of Section 28, Block XIV., Lots 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, part of Sections 28 and 29, Block XIV., and Lot 29A, part of Sections 26 and 32, Blocks XI. and XIV., all in the Oroua Survey District, and Subdivision D of the Manchester Block. Such rate to be an annual-recurring rate, payable at the Board’s office by equal half-yearly instalments, on the 1st day of April and October in each year, for a period of forty-one years, in accordance with subsection (3) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899.” The said £250 is for the purpose of providing the cost of constructing a road known as the continuation of Pharazyn’s Road, as set forth in the proposal advertised in the Rangitikei Advocate on 17th, 24th, 31st October, and 7th November, 1901.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been made and confirmed in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”
