BY an order made by His Honour Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice, in the above matter, on the 30th day of April, on the petition of Crabtree and Sons, of Wellington, Ironfounders, it was ordered that the said Mapourika Gold-dredging Company (Limited) be wound up by this Court under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1882.”

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of this company, held at the registered office, corner of High and Princes Streets, Dunedin, on Monday, the 19th day of May, 1902, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the following resolution, passed at an extraordinary meeting of the company held on the 28th day of April, 1902—viz., “That the Voltaic Prospecting and Dredging Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily, under the provisions of ‘The Companies Act, 1882,’ and its amendments”—was confirmed as a special resolution. A further resolution was passed at the above meeting appointing RICHARD THOMAS WHEELER, Jun., of Dunedin, Accountant, Liquidator of the said company for the purposes of such winding-up.

IN PARLIAMENT.

“The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act 1898 Amendment Act, 1902,” being an Act to amend “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898,” and authorise certain compensation claims for lands taken under that Act to be reheard under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894.”

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that application will be made at the next session of Parliament for leave to bring in a private Bill under the short title of “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act 1898 Amendment Act, 1902,” and that the objects which the said Bill is intended to effect are as follows:—

  1. To provide that all claims for compensation which have been heard by the Compensation Court constituted under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for lands in the City of Wellington taken by the Wellington Harbour Board by Proclamation issued under the provisions of “The Wellington Harbour Board and Corporation Empowering Act, 1898,” and “The Public Works Act, 1894,” may be reheard by a fresh Compensation Court duly constituted under the said last-mentioned Act.

  2. To provide further that if any award made by such fresh Compensation Court shall be greater or less in amount than the first award, made by the former Compensation Court, the excess, if any, with costs allowed the claimant, shall be paid by the Wellington Harbour Board to the
