Appointment of Member to Military Pension Board in Substitution of Member left the Colony.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve that the name of

Surgeon-Major WALTER THOMAS

be substituted in lieu of Surgeon-Captain Arthur Castriot de Renzi (who has left the colony) as a member of the Pension Board for the Canterbury District, under clause 4 of “The Military Pensions Act, 1866.” Appointment to date from 8th May, 1902.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased, in terms of section 7 of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882,” to direct the removal of the names of

ALEXANDER GEORGE CHRISTOPHER,
FREDERICK MALLARD, and
SPENCER GEORGE SMITH,

all of Dunedin, from the Commission of the Peace; and it is hereby notified that such names have been removed accordingly, and that such removal will take effect on and from the 22nd day of May instant.

THE following special order, made by the Seatoun Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SEATOUN ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.

THE following resolution (by way of special order) was passed by the Seatoun Road Board on the 12th day of August, 1901, and duly confirmed on the 9th day of September, 1901, viz.:—

“That this Board, to secure payment of interest and other charges on a loan of £275 (being 10 per cent. on the loan of £2,750 authorised for wharf-construction by the poll of ratepayers on the 24th September, 1900, to be raised under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ as provided for in sections 21 and 22 of said Act), do hereby make and levy a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable lands within the boundaries of the Seatoun Road District, such rate to be an annually recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum on the 1st day of April in each year at the office of the Board.”
