their Post Office Accounts, and shall treat the money received by them for postal notes as part of the balance due from them on Post Office Account.
Paid postal notes: Period for which to be kept.
- Paid postal notes shall be kept in the custody of the Postmaster-General for two years, and after the expiration of that period of time shall be burnt in the presence of two officers to be deputed by the Secretary to the General Post Office to supervise their destruction.

Regulations under “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.”—Notice No. 698.

P URSUANT to and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon him by “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby make the following additional regulations under and for the purposes of the said Act:—
REGULATIONS.

Where two or more local authorities combine to establish an abattoir for the purposes of their respective districts in common, the agreement for such combination shall be by deed, under the seal of each of the corporate bodies, setting out therein the terms and conditions as agreed on, provided such terms and conditions are approved by the Minister for Agriculture in each case.

In any case where an abattoir established by one local authority is to be made available for the purposes of the district of another local authority, the agreement shall be by deed under the seal of each of the corporate bodies, setting out therein the terms and conditions as agreed on, provided such terms and conditions are approved by the Minister for Agriculture.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

WILLIAM JAMES SMITH
to be Trustees, in the place of Edward Frissell, James Rendell, and John William Roffey, who have left the district, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Raglan Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game, License Fee, &c., Tauranga District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
I N exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Tauranga District, consisting of the Counties of Tauranga, Opotiki, and Whakatane, from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and two, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmasters at Tauranga and Opotiki are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.
And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the abovementioned district from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and two, both days inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and two.

Consul for Austria-Hungary, Auckland, to receive Residue of Intestate Estates in certain Cases.
P URSUANT to the provisions of the forty-ninth section of “The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that moneys or personal chattels payable or deliverable by the Public Trustee to Austrian or Hungarian subjects resident therein may be paid or delivered to Herr Eugene Langguth, Consul for Austria-Hungary, resident at Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, who has been represented to me as the Chief Consular Officer of Austria-Hungary as regards the Colony of New Zealand for such purpose.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and two.
