NOTICE is hereby given that the Waipukurau Road Board has executed a public work within the Waipukurau Road District, to wit, a drain or sewer in the Township of Waipukurau, in the Waipukurau Survey District, for the purpose of carrying sewerage; and that, the lands described in the Schedule hereunder being required for the purpose of such public work, and the said lands not having been taken in the manner required by law, a plan showing the lands required to be taken therefor, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands, has been deposited at the office of the said Board at Waipukurau in the said district, and is open to inspection there by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected by the taking of the said lands are required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing within forty days from the day of the date hereof to the Waipukurau Road Board, at their office, Town Hall, Tavistock Place, Waipukurau aforesaid.

In the matter of the Newtown Public Hall and Gymnasium Company (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at the Gymnasium, Gordon Street, Newtown, in the City of Wellington, on the 28th day of February last, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Richard Tree Badham, of Wellington, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up at a remuneration of twenty-five guineas.”

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Jensen Patent Construction Company (Limited), held in the company’s office, 90, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Monday, the 3rd day of March, 1902, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same; and, accordingly, that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, John Stewart the younger and Alfred Henry Bull, in the business of Bakers, under the style of “Stewart and Bull,” and carried on by us at Invercargill, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. The business will be henceforth carried on by the said John Stewart the younger alone, who will pay and discharge all debts and liabilities and receive all money payable to the said late firm.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.

RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE.

I HEREBY give notice that a Poll of the Ratepayers on the voters’ roll of Southland County was held on the 1st day of March current to decide on the adoption or otherwise of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896”; and that the said poll resulted in the adoption of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” by a majority of 345 votes, the number of votes recorded being 919 for the proposal, and 574 against it.

I therefore declare that “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,” has been duly adopted in Southland County as from 31st March, 1902, in terms of the said Act.
