A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the session of Parliament held in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of Her late Majesty’s reign, entitled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that no Bill which shall be reserved for the signification of Her Majesty’s pleasure thereon shall have any force or authority within the Colony of New Zealand until the Governor of the said colony shall signify, by speech or message to the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the said colony, or by Proclamation, that such Bill has been laid before Her Majesty in Council, and that Her Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same:

And whereas a certain Bill passed by the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the said colony, entitled “An Act to provide for the Reimbursement of certain Liabilities incurred and Moneys disbursed by His Excellency the Governor in connection with the Royal Visit to New Zealand” (the Short Title whereof is “The Royal Visit Expenses Act, 1901”), was presented to the Governor of the said colony for His Majesty’s assent, and the said Bill was reserved for the signification of His Majesty’s pleasure thereon:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of the said in-part-recited Act, do by this Proclamation signify and proclaim to all whom it may concern that the said Bill has been laid before His Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection three of section twelve of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed that portion of the road in the Ohinewairua Survey District hereinafter described.

HUNTERVILLE-TOKAANU ROAD.

All in the Wellington Land District; as the same are delineated upon the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

ERRATA.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 69, of the 18th July, 1901, page 1480, for “Andrew Seymour Brewes,” appointed Surgeon-Captain, New Zealand Volunteer Medical Staff, read “Andrew Seymour Brewis.”—In New Zealand Gazette No. 10, of the 6th February, 1902, pages 243 and 244, for “George Robert Cotterell,” appointed Lieutenant in the New Zealand Militia, read “George Robert Cotterill,” and for “William James Parker,” appointed Lieutenant in the New Zealand Militia, read “Walter James Parker.”
