Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Winton.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Winton, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”

BOROUGH OF WINTON SPECIAL LOAN.

Notice is hereby given that at the poll taken on the 29th November, 1901, on the proposal of the Borough Council to raise by special loan the sum of £2,000 for water scheme, outfall drainage, &c., the following votes were recorded:—
For the proposal, 43; against the proposal, 33: majority in favour of the proposal, 10: informal, 1.
I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

Declaration.

I, Charles Daniel Moore, Mayor of the Borough of Winton, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by law for obtaining the sanction of the electors to the raising of the above special loan of £2,000 have been duly taken, and that in particular a notice was duly published once a week for four successive weeks of the proposed undertaking, the sum proposed to be borrowed to carry it out, and the security to be offered and provision to be made for repayment of the said loan; that a meeting of electors was duly called for the 18th November, which meeting by resolution requested that the proposal be submitted to a poll; and that, after due public notice, the said poll was taken on the 29th November, 1901, when, as above stated, the proposal was carried by a majority of ten votes: and that I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Maori Hill.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Maori Hill, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”

In the matter of the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Maori Hill to raise a special loan of £4,000.

To the Hon. the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.

I, JOHN POLLOCK, Mayor of the Borough of Maori Hill, do hereby give you notice that on the 12th day of December, 1901, a poll of the electors of the said borough was taken upon the proposal of the Council of the said borough, in pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in Part XIII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf,—
(a.) To raise a special loan of £4,000, to be called “The 1901 Street-construction Loan,” for and in connection with the construction and formation of streets in the said borough.
(b.) That the property to be specially appropriated and pledged as a security for such loan and interest, pursuant to the said Act, be the general rates of the said borough.
(c.) That, as the provision for repayment of the said loan, the whole loan be made repayable on the 31st day of December, 1922; and that in connection therewith the Council issue forty debentures of £100 each, payable on the said date, with separate coupons attached thereto for each half-year’s interest, and the principal and interest secured by such debentures to be made payable at the Union Bank of Australia (Limited) at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin.
And at the said poll the resolution in favour of the said proposal was duly carried.

I, the above-named John Pollock, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by law to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the electors to the proposal referred to in the foregoing notice have been duly taken, and that the resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

THE following is the result of a poll taken on Saturday, 14th December, 1901, on a proposal to raise a loan of £100 for forming and metalling Sedcole Street, Kaitawa:—
Number of voters on special roll, 8, representing 8 votes: Votes recorded in favour of proposal, 7; unrecorded, 1.
I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

PAHIATUA COUNTY.
Proposed Loan No. 63.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on Wednesday, 18th December, 1901, on a proposal to borrow £260, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, to re-form and metal portion of the Valley Road, Mangahao (Road 37):—
Number of voters on special roll, 7, representing 9 votes: Voted in favour of proposal, 5, representing 7 votes; votes unrecorded, 2.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

NELSON HARBOUR BOARD.
Public Notice.

In pursuance of the provisions of “The Nelson Harbour Board Act, 1900,” and “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” I hereby give notice that at a poll taken on the 16th day of December, 1901, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £65,000 to improve Nelson Harbour, the result of the voting was as follows:—
Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,279; votes recorded against the proposal, 67; informal, 7.
As the number of votes given in favour of the proposal represents an absolute majority of all the valid votes recorded at the poll, I declare the resolution to be duly carried.
