Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 86, in the Town of Geraldine and Provincial District of Canterbury. The last registered owner is William Deacon, described as of Timaru, labourer, who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Dated this 15th day of December, 1902.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 617, in Durham Street, in the Township of Picton and Provincial District of Marlborough; and to the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 284, in Broadway, in the said Township of Picton, near the Gaol Reserve. The last registered owner of both sections is John Charles Collins, described as of Cheltenham, County of Gloucester, England, gentleman, who cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of either, or both, the above-described parcels of land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners respectively, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to either or both the said parcels of land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title to any part of the said land, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act; the assessed value of the said land being less than £100.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 80 acres, more or less, being Allotment 74, Block XII., Parish of Pupuke, and Provincial District of Auckland.


Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act,

and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act; the assessed value of the said land being less than £100.

Dated at Wellington, this 12th day of December, 1902.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 3 roods 8 perches, more or less, being Section No. 77, fronting Owen Street, in the Township of Hampden and Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay.


Additional Rules under “The Court of Appeal Act, 1882.”

WHEREAS it is desirable to make other rules for the printing of cases for the Court of Appeal, in lieu of the rules made upon the 1st day of August, 1900: Now, therefore, we, the Judges of the Court of Appeal, do hereby, by virtue of the authority conferred upon us by “The Court of Appeal Act, 1882,” make the following rules, to wit,—

  1. All cases on appeal shall be printed.

  2. The evidence in every such case where such evidence is requisite for the decision of the case shall be printed, unless otherwise ordered by the Supreme Court or a Judge thereof.

  3. All matters required to be printed are henceforth to be printed in the form known as demy quarto, and in no other form.

  4. The size of the paper used is to be such that the sheet when folded will be 11 in. in height and 8½ in. in width.

  5. The type to be used in the text is to be pica type, but long primer is to be used in printing accounts, tabular matter, and notes.

  6. The number of lines in each page of pica type is to be forty-seven, each line being 5¾ inches, or 146 millimetres, in length.

  7. The foregoing rules do not apply to cases now pending in which the printing is begun before the receipt of these rules; but in all cases printed after the receipt of these rules the form and type herein prescribed are to be used exclusively.

  8. These rules are substituted for rules 1, 2, and 3, made on the 1st day of August, 1900.
