Land taken for a Further Portion of the Picton-Hurunui Railway (Awatere Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Picton-Hurunui Railway—namely, the Awatere Section:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purpose hereinafter specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

Land taken for Water-supply and Drainage System, Borough of Greymouth.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purposes of the water-supply and drainage system of the Borough of Greymouth, in pursuance of powers granted by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900”:

And whereas the Borough Council of Greymouth has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration required by “The Public Works Act, 1894”:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a water-supply and drainage system for the Borough of Greymouth, and such land shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Greymouth.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of November, 1902.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council made under “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act, 1890,” on the twenty-second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and by Order in Council made under “The Post Office Act, 1881,” and “The Electric Lines Act, 1884,” on the twelfth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, making rules and regulations for the guidance of officers of the Post and Telegraph Department, regulations were made inter alia governing the payment of allowances to officers and others working in discharge of their duty in such department at times beyond those prescribed as the usual proper times for such duty (such extra times being hereinafter termed “overtime”):

And whereas it is desirable, in virtue of the provisions of the aforementioned “The Electric Lines Act, 1884,” and of “The Post Office Act, 1900” (hereinafter termed “the said Acts”), to alter and amend such regulations as aforesaid
