NOTICE is hereby given that SAMUEL WEBB, of Pahiatua, Tailor, was this day adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of creditors, to be held at the Courthouse, Pahiatua, on Tuesday, the 12th day of November, 1901, at 3 o’clock p.m.

MINING NOTICES.

UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Dunedin.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin, hereby apply for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 29th October, 1901; No. 18420.

Address for service: Town Hall, Dunedin.

Dated at Dunedin, this 2nd day of November, 1901.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: The race traverses Sections 8, Block X., 5, Block XI., 15 and 16, and road reserve, Block VI., and 6 and 7, Block XI., Mount Hyde District, and Sections 4 and 6, Block XVI., Maungatua District; starting at a point a little below the junction of Fortification Creek and Lee Stream; terminating at the junction of Lee Stream and Taieri River. The race applied for is to alter and extend the course of the race granted under license No. 10, W.R., to Thomas Bolster Fairbairn, and transferred to applicant.

Length and intended course of race: Six miles (more or less) along left bank of Lee Stream.

Point of intake: A little below junction of Fortification Creek with Lee Stream.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Twelve months; £12,000.

Mean depth and breath: 3 ft. by 5 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Thirty.
