NOTE.—In connection with the factories there are 202 creameries and skimming-stations (Auckland 50, Taranaki 51, Hawke's Bay 3 Wellington 52, Westland 2, Canterbury 14, Otago 30), against 105 in 1895 (Auckland 24, Taranaki 31, Wellington 29, Canterbury 12, Otago 8, Nelson 1).
