A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the street hereinafter described, that is to say,--

A. R. P. 0 2 0 { 1 and 18 9 and 10 } IV. V. } Waikouaiti R. 2921 Green.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above noted, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one.

Fixing Date of Payment of Land-tax for 1901-2.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of October, 1901.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in him under “The Land-tax and Income-tax Act, 1901,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and determine that the respective duties leviable under the said Act by way of land-tax, and of further graduated land-tax, shall be paid in one sum on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one.

And in further pursuance and exercise of the power and authority aforesaid, and with the like consent and advice as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place where the said duties of land-tax shall be paid shall be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Government Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accordingly.

Sale of Land under “The Public Works Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of November, 1901.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by the twenty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that, if it is found that any land taken, held, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work, is not required for such public work, the Governor may, by Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act: And whereas a recommendation has been laid before the Governor, accompanied by a map, setting forth that in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine all that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement two acres two roods ten perches, more or less, being part of Subdivision II. of Section III., Block XIII., Belmont Survey District, in the Wellington Land District, was taken, with other lands, by the Crown, under the said Act, for a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road to Crown land: And whereas a portion of the said piece of land is not now required for the said purpose, and the Crown desires to sell the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Increasing the Holding-area of Land to Settlers in the Mangaramarama Village Settlement.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of November, 1901.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, under the authority of the one-hundred-and-sixty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” fixing the terms and conditions upon which certain village-homestead allotments therein enumerated should be disposed of, it was provided that no person should hold more than one allotment:

And whereas it is expedient to allow one person to hold and acquire two allotments of land in the Mangaramarama Village Settlement:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the areas in which the land in the Mangaramarama Village Settlement shall be held, and doth by this present Order declare that any settler in the village settlement aforesaid may apply for and acquire not more than two allotments of land therein. And it is hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, aforesaid, shall apply, except as regards the area in which the land may be held, to the Mangaramarama Village Settlement aforesaid.
