Land temporarily reserved in the Land District of Otago.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land District of Otago described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose of a site for an accommodation-house.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, situated in Clinton Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by a road fronting the left bank of the Clinton River, and towards the north-west, north-east, and south-east by Crown land.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one.

Notifying Lands in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and one, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction at Hunterville; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the descriptions of such lands respectively.

These sections comprise, generally speaking, flat land in grass. Sections 36 and 239 are intersected by the Pourewa Stream.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-third day of December, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in Blocks V. and IX., Russell Survey District, containing by admeasurement 179 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 31 of Block V., Russell Survey District; towards the east by the Kaurinui Creek; towards the south by Section No. 82 of the Parish of Ruapekapeka; and towards the south-west generally by Section No. 85. Parish of Ruapekapeka, by a public road, by the Te Kauri Block, and by Section No. 8 of Block V., Russell Survey District, to the point of commencement.

Description of land: Open land, fronting a branch of the Waikare Inlet, about two miles by water from Opua.

Cash price, 7s. 6d. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 4·5d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 3·6d. per acre per annum.

Also, all that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Maungataniwha East, containing by admeasurement 320 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the Wainui River; towards the south generally by Sections Nos. 40, 34, 35, and 37, of the Parish of Maungataniwha East; and towards the north-west by Section No. 42 of the same parish to the point of commencement.

Description of land: Undulating to broken forest land of good quality, fronting Wainui River, about fifteen miles from Mangonui and sixteen miles from Whangaroa.

Cash price, 8s. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 4·8d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 3·84d. per acre per annum.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one.

Trustees for the South Malvern Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ARTHUR BURKITT,
WILLIAM WATSON, and
JOHN OSCAR ANSTISS

to be Trustees, in the place of Edward McMillan, deceased, and Nathaniel Grindrod and William John Baxter, who have left the district, to provide for the maintenance and care of the South Malvern Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one.
