Amending Boundaries of Waiuku and Waipipi Road Districts, County of Manukau.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of September, 1901.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section twenty of "The Counties Act, 1886" (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that all the powers of a County Council relating to the alteration of the boundaries of any road or town districts within a county, or of amalgamating such districts, or of merging any of them into the county, and all other powers in relation to such districts exercisable by the Council by special order or on petition, may be exercised by the Governor in Council in respect of any of the counties in which the said Act is suspended: And whereas the said Act is suspended in the County of Manukau: And whereas, in pursuance of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1883,” petitions have been presented to His Excellency the Governor praying him to alter the boundaries of the Waiuku and Waipipi Road Districts:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that from and after the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one, the boundaries of the said districts as at present constituted shall cease to be the boundaries of the said districts, and that the boundaries of the said districts shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto; and also that the Road Boards of the said districts shall be dissolved upon the said twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; and that the Road Boards of the said districts, as altered by this Order in Council, shall consist of five members for the Waiuku Road Board and five members for the Waipipi Road Board; and, further, that the first election of members of the new Boards shall be conducted in accordance with “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876”: and doth, by and with the advice aforesaid, further appoint William Joseph King to be the Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of the Road Board of the Waiuku Road District; and doth appoint Saturday, the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, to be the day for holding such first elections; and that the first meeting of the new Board of the said Waiuku Road District shall be held at the Waiuku Road Board Office, Waiuku, on Saturday, the ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, at half-past seven o'clock in the evening; and doth, by and with the advice aforesaid, further appoint Arthur Ethelbert Mellsop to be the Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of the Road Board of the Waipipi Road District; and that Saturday, the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, be the day for holding such elections; and that the first meeting of the new Board of the said Waipipi Road District shall be held at the Waipipi Road Board Office, Waiuku, on Saturday, the ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, at two o'clock in the afternoon.
SCHEDULE.
WAIUKU ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded towards the north generally by the Taihiki Estuary from the Waiuku Estuary to the western boundary-line of Section No. 103, Waiuku East Parish: thence towards the east generally by Sections Nos. 103, 102, 101, and 91, Waiuku East Parish, and the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the middle of the road forming the south-western boundary of that section; thence by a line along the middle of that road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 91, 89, 88, 87, 86, 85, 84, and 83, to a point in line with the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 19, Puni Parish; thence by a right line to and by the said Section No. 19, and by Sections Nos. 18 and 2, Puni Parish, to the Purapura Native Reserve; and thence by that Native reserve, and its south-western boundary-line produced to the middle of the Waikato River: thence towards the south-east by a line along the middle of the Waikato River to a point due south of the south-western corner of the Te Uku Block (Native Reserve): thence towards the west generally by a right line to the south-western corner of the said Te Uku Block; thence by the western boundary-line of that block to the road forming its northern boundary; thence by the southern
side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary-line of Section No. 226, Waiuku East Parish; thence across that road and by the western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 226 and 225, and the southern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 29 and 28, Waiuku East Parish, the south-western boundary-lines of Allotments Nos. 8, 9, and 10, Suburbs of Purapura, across a road, by the southern and south-western boundary-lines of Allotment No. 11, across another road, by the south-western boundary-line of Allotment No. 13, Suburbs of Purapura, and by the south-eastern and western boundary-lines of Section No. 24, Waiuku East Parish, to the north-western corner of that section; thence by the eastern side of the road forming the western boundary of Section No. 22 to its junction with the road that intersects Sections Nos. 12, 11, and 7, Waiuku East Parish; thence by a line along the middle of that road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 6, Waiuku East Parish; thence by the western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section, and by the road forming the western boundary of Section No. 4, Waiuku East Parish, and of Allotments Nos. 70, 71, 72, 68, and 67, and by the eastern side of that road produced to the Waiuku Estuary; and thence by the Waiuku Estuary to the place of commencement: excepting the Village of Pakington.
WAIPAPI ROAD DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-west by the Waitara Parish from the ocean to the Rangiriri Creek, thence by that creek to the Waiuku Estuary; thence towards the east generally by the Waiuku Estuary, and the Waiuku Road District hereinbefore described to the middle of the Waikato River; thence towards the south-east by a line along the middle of that river to the ocean; and thence towards the south-west by the ocean to the place of commencement: excepting all townships or villages.

Appointment of Persons to act on the Committee of the Maerewhenua Portion of the Waitaki Islands.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the following persons acting on the Committee for the care and management of the Maerewhenua portion of the Waitaki Islands, in terms of Regulation No. 2 of the regulations for the management of the aforesaid portion of the said islands, dated 11th September, 1895, viz.:--

JOHN DEWAR,
in the place of Benjamin Barter Welsh, Walter John Yardley, and Gerald Morris, who retired in terms of the said regulations.
